I would've loved this SO much. It would've given ANW a "new generation" kinda vibe. Plus, Peri should've got a godkid like Hazel for his first job. He needed WAY more experience before being assigned to someone like Dev.

Dev is overrated (I like him and all, but the other ANW characters need more appreciation)

Season 9 & 10 of the OG run aren't that bad. Am I gonna go for an episode from those seasons over Channel Chasers or School's Out? No. But some people act like those episodes shot their dog or something

Cosmo and Wanda think they're slick. They can't fool me
Watching Shazam rn bc I need noise to clean my room and I had a realization: This is just the same plot of the Fairly Odd Parents.
EVERYTHING has the plot of FOP if you look hard enough.
Been rewatching ANW recently, and I wish we saw Cosmo and Wanda as humans more. I just realised how few episodes their human forms appeared in. There's so much untapped storytelling potential that comes with them having human forms. Instead of having to turn into random objects to hide themselves, now they can be seen by others in the real world.
Since Timmy's parents weren't allowed to see Cosmo and Wanda at all (ignoring "Meet the Oddparents" and "Fairy Friends and Neighbours"), they couldn't do a whole lot with this concept, but in this case, Angela and Marcus already know this dynamic duo as their weirdo neighbours. They could do a lot with this. Maybe Angela and Marcus notice how much time Hazel spends with Cosmo and Wanda over them. That could create some interesting conflict.
(Also, they're so pretty in their human forms- Wanda especially- but that's not the point.)
So... Who had "Cosmo and Wanda are actually biblically accurate angels" on their 2024 bingo card?

Hi, all. I'm posting just to say that I'm gonna start yume-ing Wanda. This is something I wouldn't normally do but want to try. Sorry if this came out of left field, but I need to make this post now before I talk myself out of it.
My self-insert will also be called Astra, will be a fairy, and will also be nonbinary and bisexual. She will also be referred to as she/he/they. Her hair colour and outfits will probably change a lot. Her design will be star and space themed (maybe with a few butterfly motifs thrown in.) I'm thinking of giving her a godkid, but I'm not sure yet.
Once my semester is over next week, I'm gonna try to draw a design for Astra. I haven't drawn in a while, so it might look rough at first. Please bear with me.
Cosmo and Wanda will also still be together in my universe, but Astra will not be with Cosmo too. He's my comfort little guy (always and forever🫰) but that's as far as those feelings go.
I guess this is a sharing yumeship. I love Coswan, and I don't mind if other people ship themselves with Wanda.
Sorry if I got any terms wrong or if I'm missing anything. This is all new to me.

Ughhh thinking about Wanda again.
Wanda, Wanda, Wanda... I always find it striking that she is a prominent female character in a 2000s cartoon who doesn't fit the female stereotypes of the time. She's not the love interest. She's not the bratty girl. She's not the popular princess. She's not the ugly witch. She's not boy-crazy. She's not rich. She's not traditionally feminine. She's not a tomboy. She's not conventionally attractive to make the IRL male viewers ogle at her instead of paying attention to the show. The closest trope she gets to is the mom, but she's not the mom in the way that most 2000s cartoon mothers are. She's just as nurturing as she is a bad influence, in the sense that she is a fairy and grants wishes that get Timmy into trouble, atypical of the usual mom character. She's quirky and has a silly voice. She's the voice of reason most of the time, but also lets the fun of wish-granting get ahead of her countless times. She's unique.
I am avoiding talking about Wanda's fall from grace, because we all know it happened, and it breaks my heart to think about that. I wish (hee hee) we had showrunners who saw what a unique character they had on their hands and helped her realize that potential. Alas, we did not have smart showrunners.
This got way longer than I intended, so I'll end on a positive note. The Fairly OddParents had plenty of other female characters to fill the stereotypes of a typical 2000s cartoon, but their most important female managed to avoid all of them. Wanda Venus Fairywinkle, how we love you. 💖

I just realised it's been over 2 years since ANW released.
I honestly wish I could go back and watch it for the first time again. It's such a fun show. I really hope we get a continuation in some form or fashion.
