one of my head cannons is that maybe a big argument happened between alberto and his dad which made his dad abandon him, so when alberto lashed out on luca just to have luca stubbornly go against him and try to win the vespa made alberto realize that his dad's behavior wasn't normal and now instead of thinking about his dad whenever he's mad, he thinks of luca and how much effort luca put into accomplishing the one thing that brought them together

one of my head cannons is that when Luca wrote his first letter to Alberto, Alberto couldn't read as well, so he went to Massimo and Massimo read the letter out loud for him. i can also imagine Massimo sitting at the table with Alberto, helping him write a response

technically, its summer break in italy, which means luca and alberto are reunited
