The Olympics. It was happening. Some how, some way, they were right on track. The pair were training and practicing for more hours a day than not, and Jaxon was exhausted. Their coach had left the rink hours ago, and they were still on the ice. After probably the hundredth time they had ran through their routine that day, Jax let out a heavy breath. His hands reached for hers, holding them tight as they came to a halt on the ice. “Q, we’ve gotta call it a night.” She’d been rather persistent that they ran the routine again and again and again. “Poor George probably wants to go home.” He motioned towards the lone maintenance guy up in the bleachers. He’d been there on and off, watching them skate, surely wondering when they’d leave so he could lock up the rink. The rink closed hours ago but there wasn’t a chance he could shoo out Fairhope’s very own future Olympians.
