IF I'M BEING COMPLETELY HONEST!!!!!! Unfortunately ... I just thought of it as the latter At first .. BUT THTA DOESN'T MEAN YOU CANT MAKE UP INTERPRETATIONS OF YOUR OWN !!!!! ALSO THANK YOU SOMUCH!!!?!?!!!? SUPER HEADCANON HEAVY but I like to think mono genuinely just doesn't understand how People talk. Either having been born a static creature or simply just having been in the nowhere since birth, everything's a first for him . he never really got to Learn how to be a normal child really WHICH IN TURN means he never got to learn how to speak properly too .

well . at the very least, not in any language that any other person can understand. The only language that Mono ever knew how to speak was Whatever The Nowherian One is Called !! Maybe its due to him being a resident like Alone or simply having grown up in the nowhere itself, either way , his only way of communication was a language that literally nobody but the Mindless Adults trying to Kill him supposedly knew MAYBE he only learnt tiny tidbits of english via television or during his short time with the children in the ln2 comics but only the most basic words really . HOWEVER It all changed when he met six . i like to put a little bit of Myself into characters!!! as a drooling toddler i remember managing to learn english just based off the internet alone. You can basically Just think of it as that. Mono never really understood english prior to meeting Six but over time just by mimicking and copying her Like A broken tape Recorder he gradually began to understand it!!!!
