A distressed dad speaks of his son, who he says has carried out more than 20 ram raids.
Social media needs to clamp down on criminal activity. It is clear that the platforms are failing at doing so.
Profiles claiming to be beer brands Speights and Waikato draught were flagged as a fake profile - and neither were found to be in violation of Facebook's community standards.Â
 Do better, Facebook.
Apparently mocking people with disabilities, women and pregnant people does not go against the community standards.Â
With the way moderating content is going on Facebook, I’m not surprised. Misogyny and violent videos are OK with them. Even though it’s not with us.
My Facebook page was hacked & before I had a chance to report it I wasn't able to log in, it was saying Facebook said my comments went against their policy, how can you control what someone might comment if your page has been hacked & then they won't let you log in to report your hacked page....
That's weird. Did you try contacting Facebook and letting them know that your account had been hacked and is posting comments without your knowledge?

“Hey @facebook, get your shit together. This is absolute BS. Read the post you idiots. It’s about Gabby Petito, not a threat. Use those billions ya got and buy better bots.”
Apparently expressing anger towards the alleged killer (who is already wanted for arrest) goes against the Facebook community standards.Â
But fake profiles are A-OK with Facebook.
Get your act together, Facebook.
Know your place, poor!
I posted my check-in in the Irish Pub in NY. FB flagged it down as a post which goes against Cybersecurity Community Standard. I re-read that standard numerous times and I still do not understand what I did wrong. FB put me in jail :)Â
DISCLAIMER: This post has been submitted by an anonymous person.
Facebook apparently decided that a person normally checking in to an Irish pub goes against the community standards.
How does an innocent and normal check in to a pub violate the standards, Facebook?

Social commentator accused the owner of Magnolia Kitchen of child abuse, leading to an investigation by Oranga Tamariki, court hears.
Facebook and alcohol healthwatch are complicit in the harassment of the Auckland baker. Alcohol Healthwatch shames people who drink alcohol in front of children - and even those who teach them to drink responsibly when older, and Facebook allows this sort of abuse to occur on Facebook and Instagram (which is owned by Facebook) - in which Facebook allows this to occur.
No matter how much Alcohol Healthwatch is trying to "reduce alcohol harm" - at the end of the day, they have empowered trolls to harass others. They, too, need to be held to account for empowering and enabling this sort of behavior.
Meanwhile, Facebook and Instagram sits back and lets the harassment and defamation occur, while removing sex worker accounts and breastfeeding photos.

My Experience Of F.B.'s Hypocrisy
I am utterly sick and tired of FB's hypocrisy. I have been suspended multiple times for things that were NOT against "Community Standards", yet have reported comments that were racist, homophobic, sexist/misogynist, transphobic etc. and only a few times was anything done. The most recent comments I reported were racist in nature. They were on a post by clothing brand H&M, which featured a black model. One comment read "he has only just learnt how to walk up right". Nothing was done about it by F.B. Other comments were by racists bemoaning the fact that in the UK, black, Asian etc. people are "over-represented" in the media, including mixed-race families.
Facebook says it has implemented technologies to combat hateful content on its platform
Not a surprise as Facebook's inept community standards means that trolls and bigots feel enabled to leave hateful comments and posts on Facebook business pages.
Facebook, meanwhile, takes down the wrong things - while death threats and hate speech is allowed to remain.
I'm against any racism towards Maori people.
But I'm also against Anti Semitic remarks aimed at Jewish people.
This post was reported to Facebook for this very reason, and was found not to violate the community standards.
The post can be found here, which needs to be reported to Facebook.
Sometimes, life can be a Bitche. The residents of a French town thought just that after social media giant Facebook removed Ville de Bitche'
Facebook cannot even tell a difference between a place/town name and an actual swear or cuss word.
Also, there are so many towns, places, cities, monuments and even bridges/culverts with words that can be seen or perceived as offensive if pronounced wrong (or right). Example: Tuakau, if mispronounced (or if pronounced in other accents), could end up sounding like "To Cull" (or even "to kill"), which translates to "to kill/slaughter" - in this case, the name could be perceived as threatening or violent by Facebook, when in reality, Tuakau doesn't even mean that at all.
There are many, many places, monuments, buildings, or even bridges or culverts with names that could sound offensive if mispronounced, or if the name is spelt very similar to a swear word. In New Zealand, we have our fair share of them, a small example (and non exhaustive) list can be found here. We've even had the N word for three geographical place names in the South Island (which are renamed now).
There are also many place names all over the world -I've listed two for example - Hell, in Norway and Fucking, in Austria.
Update - Facebook restored the page. Why even bother removing this page, when it's just a town, and that there are more pressing issues to worry about?
Robert Aaron Long was identified as a suspect in the shooting of five people at a spa in Cherokee County, Woodstock, Georgia and as the Atlanta shooting suspect.
The ugly and lethal consequences of racism, misogyny and hatred against sex workers. All of which Facebook allows on their platform, and allows the hatred to flourish. And hate speech leads to offline consequences.
Facebook needs to do better. Facebook appears to have not learnt anything from the previous massacres, in addition to the March 2019 Christchurch Mosque attacks. Facebook needs to be held to account by the governments and the law, because Facebook has blood on their hands.

We have public pages that focus on news reports for the LGBT community, immigration and migrants, and a general page on civil liberties and the threat of bigotry and racism in America.  Previously we had a cartoon ridiculing Nazis reported as promoting hate and Facebook banned us for 30 days for it. A friend did a one time favor and spoke to an FB executive who had it reinstated only to have it automatically deemed racist and the ban reimposed by their automated system. A few days back an individual spewing anti-trans hate called us liars for linking to news articles about attacks on transgender individuals. We said his name calling was unacceptable and it wasn’t his first time and did what FB says do—we blocked him from our page. He then claimed to FB that the reply saying name calling was unacceptable was “bullying” and Facebook upheld it! He bullies us but we’re bullies for removing him from the page. Yesterday someone claimed anonymously (of course) that another post violated community standards. FB won’t show us which one or tell us how it violated any standards. I know this is untrue as we don’t post anything that is a violation whatsoever. So we were shut down for 24 hours. Before the 24 hours were up they person went back and filed another false accusation and it was automatically upheld as before and we are banned for 3 days. I suspect in 3 days he’ll do it again. Someone is harassing me and Facebook is helping them while offering the victims of this bullying virtually no recourse.Â
Please note that this was submitted by an anonymous user. The submitter’s post shows that people can maliciously report posts that calls out Nazis and Facebook maliciously removes the posts. Yet actual Nazi and hateful content aren’t removed by Facebook.
Facebook removes any content which features feminist topics such as menstruation, or shows female nipples, or posts or comments that call men “trash”. Yet, Facebook doesn’t seem to be bothered with blocking scam pages, such as these fake Tipsy Bartender pages, or removing comments, posts and pages made by these scammers, who are trying to scam people out of money.
If you come across pages such as the one shown here, DO NOT REGISTER. These scammers will use that information to steal money from you. If you receive messages from such pages, do NOT follow any of their instruction. Please block the page and report any message or page you encounter to Facebook.
