Hi! It's been a while since I've had any concrete online alias, but you can call me Tiki since that was my moniker for the longest time.
This blog is mostly for my writing/fanfiction, though some of my other interests may pop up from time to time. I love to ramble on about worldbuilding or meta, so please feel free to message me or shoot me an ask!
Main fandoms: Fire Emblem (8, 9), Tales of Symphonia, other ancient JRPGs, maybe Star Wars...?

Yeah mostly to stalk 😂 I was curious about using Tumblr for engagement, so that's why I got set up, but then I lost interest once I thought about it & realized it would take a lot of effort.
So I like to challenge myself from time to time, and I saw this prompt on an AO3 FE prompt meme for Ena/Rajaion focused on their kid learning about his family. I never finished Radiant Dawn, but I found out through Google that Ena apparently was pregnant the whole time??? Per Gareth's Japanese ending, apparently she has a son named Rajaion lol. I'm bad at creating interesting names, and I thought it would be fun to play with the concept of a Rajaion Jr. who exists in a world where everyone goes, "Rajaion? Who's that lol".
Unfortunately, I ran out of steam after writing the first 30% or so of the fic because I couldn't figure out the story I was trying to tell. I had gotten as far as Rajaion Jr. growing dissatisfied with the vague answers he was getting about his father from various people. And I wanted a scene with Almedha where she stiffs him. I even considered a scene with Soren where Soren curls his lip and cruelly info-dumps because I could see Soren being petty like that if he was in a bad enough mood. But I couldn't figure out how to get from Point A to Point B. So here is the unfinished puzzle of this Ena/Rajaion kid fic in all its disconnected un-glory.
---
Rajaion is the first dragon born in centuries. He has no father, but he has a nation that loves and adores him and rejoices in his very existence and a host of relatives and family friends who do the things, he supposes, a father is meant to do. Gareth is the one to take him flying, who teaches him how to leash the dragon inside and bend it to his will, who shadows him when he ventures beyond the castle walls. His great-grandfather, with his peerless wisdom and refined worldliness, was the one to hold him, who would sweep him up in his arms when he was young and show him the stars or open to him those beloved tales of heroes past and heroes dwelling only in imagination. And the king, his uncle, though he too is young, has always treated him as his own--taking interest in his education, his health, his training, and ever giving him an open door despite the constant carousel of foreign dignitaries and lords. He was satisfied with this when he was young. The absence of his father, his namesake, was only a fact. "He perished during the Mad King's War," and that seemed explanation enough. For as beorc and laguz do perish alike in battle, and such a war spread to every corner of the continent, it is understandable, especially when he hears of how his grandfather and many dragons died in Ashera's coming, that his father, the first Rajaion, might have been struck down.
But as he grows older and understands more of the world and the workings of living beings, how what is unsaid may often say more than words themselves, he becomes unsatisfied. His father died, but he had no deeds, no exploits, no fame. No stories from Gareth of Rajaion's glorious end, or even of how he lived or what manner of warrior he was. Even as he comes into his own and soars, he hears no comparison, no remark on how he might carry his father's legacy. Instead, there is only silence and hastily changed subjects. He comes to see that his father is a ghost that haunts Goldoa, a name not spoken for fear that he might be summoned.
He takes to sitting before his father's grave and staring hard at the runes cut into the stone, as if they might reveal the mystery.
[...]
The lady Almedha, his aunt, lives in a cold, empty tower just outside the border of Goldoa. When his uncle introduces him, at first she smiles. "Rajaion? Oh, I see the resemblance." But then, as they speak, slowly, her face hardens, and the lines of her mouth grow taut beneath the gauzy black veil she always wears. "Leave me," she says, and they have no choice but to accede.
