This got rave reviews once upon a time and I am honestly not sure why. It starts out strong, with a good premise (“let’s demonstrate major philosophical concepts through jokes”). But many sections are more flippant than funny (or even properly philosophical). Much ado is made, in the section on feminism, about chauvinism in academia—but women and non-western writers are conspicuously scarce in the rest of the volume, and only Mary Wollstonecraft makes the list of suggested readings.
