As she steps forward, into the room, sheâs quite pleased with the living arrangements presented to her. A small comfort, when compared to how worried she was about being found â at the very least she could worry in tranquility, no more running from place to place, and her personal favorite: not having to fight anymore. For someone designed to be a deadly weapon, Dizzy considered herself a coward, and much preferred peace to having to fight her way through the ranks to somehow prove that she was exactly what her cells said she was. She detested being a Gearâ
as if that was something to be proud of.Â
She wanted to be normal, she wanted to be happy. Perhaps the gods would grant her some sort of later happiness in her life, but Dizzy was never one to wait for her future to happen. Yes, she trudged through whatever hell was given to her at the time, but it was always as if she was in some sort of a hurry, becauseâÂ
no one wants hell to last.Â
At the mention of her name, she nods once. Dizzy, a proper name for a girl who couldnât seem to get her head on her shoulders to see the world for how it was. She oft ridiculed herself for being so blind, but she had no one to teach her about much of anything anymore. The lovely old couple who took her in as an infant were gone now. Perhaps Ky was to be her guide from now on, and franklyâshe wouldnât mind.
â yes, thatâs right. Iâve gone by Dizzy for as long as I can remember. â
âI see, that will makes things easier.â Ky looked at the time which read half past nine p.m. He just had some paper work to complete for the night, after that some sleep and heâs off early to begin working the next morning. âIt is rather late to make dinner at this hour, but I can provide refreshments at the very least.â After having travelled to his home from the ship he thought that tucking her straight to bed on an empty stomach wouldnât be any more comfortable than having her lay with a bloated one, thus the best way to encourage sound sleep would be a snack of modest quantity. Ah, but did Gears eat the same food sources as humans? ---how else would they replenish their energy? He had to remind himself that the basis of bringing her in had been influenced by her contradictory nature. The officer took to rovering the halls until he turned his focus to the kitchen.
âHow does tea sound?â Whether accepted or declined he would still make it regardless since he was thirsty himself. Some biscuits and fruit should be plenty enough for the night. Ky opened a clear panel cupboard which was arranged in organized rows to showcase his collection of tea cups and plates. He took out a midnight blue set decorated with golden rims. A cup quite befitted for a queen but his inspiration came plain from the womanâs blue hair. Despite his stoic and serious front, he did possess a refined taste for courtesy and unadmittedly was quite pleased that the occasion had finally come where he would have company to select the treasures he had long collected.
[ Ňree ] â The annoyance was so palpable that Sol could hold it within his dirtied fingers. His grin widened with the click of a French tongue, and his body snaked forward as he spoke. It was only at the mention of tea that Solâs face scrunched up, his lips peeling back from his ground-down teeth to show a frown - exaggerated, of course, but a frown nonetheless. Sol tilted his head as he cracked his neck loudly, kicking his mud-covered shoes against the desk to shed the brown substance onto the clean floor.
âHm,â Sol hummed from the depths of his throat, giving the blond a thinking look, his large paw of a hand covering his chin as he closed his eyes. Tilting his head to the side, he hummed some long-forgotten theme as he seemingly thought, drawing out the process longer than it should of taken. After a long pause had pressed between the two, awkwardly impregnating the air with Solâs stench, Sol opened his mouth to speak. âDepends,â he said slowly, opening his eyes, their color flickering to a dull blood red before quickly shifting back to their usual brown hue. âIs there gonna be whiskey in my fuckinâ drink, Kiske, or am I gonna have t'go out and buy my own?â
Sol pushed off his seat, annoyed with sitting. His large body stalked around the desk like a shark circling its prey, his breath sighing through his nose in a play of thought, his long ponytail trailing after him like a fin. âOrrr, Kiske, we can stay here,â Sol said, his voice picking up speed as he spoke, âanâ instead, I could give ya a kiss anâ trail my fingers up yer leg, anâ ya can pass out on the desk like a girl beinâ strangled by her bodice.â
It was a jab meant to infuriate Ky, to make him break out in frizzy hair and tiny shocks, to make him angry that heâd even bring up something as filthy as he did. Sol perched himself in front of Kyâs desk, waiting for a reaction from the male, but something told him heâd be as calm as he was before. Unfortunate, then, that he had to turn to Sin for his kicks.
âGood grief, have some sense in your surroundings.â He was astounded, as if Ky would be lenient to the point where heâd condone whisky in sanctioned grounds; and as his generous offer came to be more so neglected, he was given the impression to dismiss it at the end of their meeting.Â
In the distant past Ky would have been willing to raise his blade against Sol and challenge him to a duel (strength being the only redeeming feature he did not find detestable), but the king disdained the idea of instigating a match in his work site, and so could not thrust the uninvited man out by taking arms. Swayed from his thoughts to an ill-humoured comment, Ky's brows only furrowed deeply than before. âI do not believe Dizzy, my wife, would take too kindly of those suggestions; while I should be inclined to laugh to hear you speak in the arts of affection if one would simply consider the poor circle of your relations. Even I feel that I am giving you more credit than you deserve.â Little offense would be taken for the obscene provocations, however much would be on account of the man's insolence stomping noisiliy across the room. And of all people being Sol, the man was hardly the person to get personal over, but the king was at least peeved from his disrespectful behvaiour which had always been beyond forgiving, for it only served to empower his own patience and set fortifications tenfold their average power. His mind too noble to be shaken by the sting of scum laden arrows.
Ky remained transfixed in his seat, his hands still clasped together as his eyes followed the man in the room until he so boldly sat on his desk. He should be disposed to forewarn his actions with the threat of force, reprove him of his indecencies and demand for his immediate leave, but the king let not his words be on par with the sour stench of the other maleâs bodily odors. Reclining back on his seat he rested his elbows on the arm rests, a shift in the air followed to cut short their squabbles, for surely there were conditions that burned behind Sol, and the violent disposition could been his cowardly veil to divert the thorny wedge that lay patently at his breast. Like a father who would scold his child, the king's voice burst forth in open flames, the tongue was his scourge, and his eyes cast severely on the barbaric "junior" as should be expected of his authority.Â
âPerhaps you might have better things to do than squander your time as a desolate child would when seeking appraisal from his seniors.â He said, continuing, âor is it that you are afraid to announce that you require aid in your pursuits after finding that, being a solitary man, you are unable to uproot the problem that now binds you to your course?âÂ

[ Ňree ] â It was always easy to find Ky Kiske. He did not move much, his position oft being âhead-down in his office, accidentally fallen into sleep.â Sol was not one to criticize the boyâs sleepy habits; he knew that running a city as large as this was no laughing matter.
He was still going to berate him, however.
The door slammed open, wood whining and giving to the bounty hunterâs dirty shoe with a loud bang. The smell of alcohol and cigarettes wafted in, cut with the under-mingling smell of testosterone and sweat. Sol smelt like shit compared to Ky Kiske and he knew it, wore it with a proud behaviour that could only be attributed to his long history of pushing the Kiskeâs buttons.
âBoy Scout,â his voice sang, the drawl more evident than ever as his amusement, not well hidden, crackled his face into a grin. âDonât be jerkinâ yerself off or anythinâ. Iâm cominâ in.â Brown locks messed up to the side of his head poked into the room first before the entire head of the beast found itâs way in, itâs massive frame trailing after, the small tip of his ponytail being the last item inside the room.
âAinât this a fuckinâ kick in thâhead?â He continued, plopping himself into the chair in front of the desk, his uninvited presence taking up the room in the form of scent and heat. âYa know me for this long anâ ya donât even have mâdrink out. For shame, little Kiske,â Sol scolded, cracking his neck loudly. âEven Sin fuckinâ knows tâget me mâdrink, anâ heâs what? Five, er somethinâ.â
First came the release of the pen, and as followed, a stillness in the air. Ky did not raise his head as he would have usually done to a guest, be it expected or not; often formality can be lacking when met with familiarity to a person. The king had just wanted a minute for himself to rest, to have silence be his sole companion of the hour, and perhaps permit a thought or two to entertain himself with, as there was no greater entertainment for the King than thinking upon numerous topics, particularly those disassociated to the work that sat before him. Yet the ideal setting he wished to achieve was rudely interrupted, and instead a noise heâd deem detestable came crashing in like a hurricane which resulted in an unease to rise beneath the surface of his flesh while a red he knew all too well began to bleed into his line of sight. âSolâŚof course.â Not even in blatant irritation did his voice draw out the name, but in grave solemnity trained to refrain the lashing of tongue. Brows furrowed and eyes closed, and try as he might to suppress the displeasure contorting his face the vulgar stench that waft through the chamber did well to wrench his eyes open, and he could ignore no further the problem that had made itself a nest in the room.
With elbows resting on the desk and a hand pressed against the kingâs face, the mention of Sin engendered him to click his tongue. The very voice of it served to remind Ky that his son had adopted Solâs foul manners and speech. It seems, in benefit of one great quality, another had to be lost, which were the characteristics of order and civility that Ky valued in his own upbringing. âI have nothing more to say to you,â He muttered, knowing ordinary means would not satisfy a person such as Sol, and even if Kyâs reproach for the man had simmered---if to say his dislike was expressed with less discrimination, he would not provide for anything ridiculous unbefitting of his person and position. He will act accordingly against any unwelcome intruder, and Sol was no exception to the cause. The king placed both palms against the table and pushed himself up, standing tall on his feet, his posture straight as a stick of cold iron. He turned to the window with precise movement and drew out its curtains, spreading open the panels to their full length, then brought his arms behind his back and looked aimlessly at the expanse. Illyriaâs landscape lay into view, vivid and bright like a freshly glazed painting.
âI will be having tea soon,â he said, almost with a feeling alluding to jest did the next sentence come, âand---as a small commemoration for our long acquaintanceship, perhaps you would like to join me, then?â This was an offer at his best; and an offer it was to drink. The king turned again to the desk, gave an unaffected glance to Sol in the chair, then sat himself down once again in his grand seat, clasping hands together as he awaited an answer.Â

âI thought it was a good idea.â She responded as the man looked at her with shook. She seen this man before, well more in the media rather than in person. Sheâs been in an office like this too, she thought it was a good idea to pay a revisit.Â
The king stood up from his seat and set the papers he had been looking at aside. Many a times in his life he had been met with unexpected news, cruel surprises, and each and every of those times he did well to keep himself level-headed, for rashness mixed in with confusion only resulted to havoc. âBegin with explaining yourself.â He then said, lowering his head and folding arms across his chest in a manner that was nothing short of serious.
â The boundary line ? Is there some      sort of situation occurring? â
Of course, it wasnât necessarily his place to                       ask. Yet curiosity had taken itself to him like a                       plague. Insufferable, and impossible to deal                       with. Especially as it grew⌠festered.
The query was acknowledged, as it was Kyâs duty to spread awareness of the situation so that the public may understand the severity of its cause at the very least. Shifting his weight to one leg and resting a hand to the hilt of his sword, he craned his neck and directed his attention to a building that looked nothing more than an abandoned ruin. âBlack Technology.â He answered tersely. âI'm here to confiscate it. Surely you must know that devices developed before our time have since been strictly forbidden; but there comes rare occasions where citizens are found with them--this area is closed in regards to that violation of the law.âÂ

âŁRIOTâ â âAw, donât be like that,â The Gear mocked, âIt almost sounds yâmissed beinâ âround me.â
âNot so much for myself,â he remarked, âit would be problematic for Sin should you disappear for good. Dizzy as well, seems to care for your well-being just as much.â Well, if he had a choice Ky would have approached the man with a generous âwelcome back,â but he then figured that such sentiments wouldnât be to Solâs taste. Ah, yes, even the great king himself had adapted in some form or way. Though he wouldn't admit that the sharpness of his words might have been inspired by his past dislike of Sol. Even so, in this instant he garners the man a brief smile rather than a bitter frown.Â
' Ky! ' Runs into her husband's arms.
What comes to his arms is the manifestation of light and joyâor as it would appear in the Kingâs eyes. She shone like a star in his midst, and there were many instances where he thought he was not deserving of such brilliance, however that was now a matter of the past, because he could now look toward the young woman with open eyes. As she neared, winged creature that she was, Ky only whole-heartedly embraced her with his strong arms, bringing her close to his chest, for that was where the heart resided. âDizzy,â He answered with his tone filled full of affection, but at the same time his voice remained ever so humble like the calm waters in the spring. âYou seem to be in good spirits, are you?â
"Me?â A.B.A responded as she walked up with Paracelus. âAm I not welcomed?â
His expression contorts to surprise. For he could not place a finger on the woman dressed so oddly in his presence, and who--now standing before him had with her what seemed to be a human-sized doll(?) in shape of a keychain, decorated in a most bizarre fashion in reflection to the woman herself. âWelcomed?â Questioned  the King in disbelief. âThis is my office, who could have possibly brought you in here?âÂ
âPerhaps I should arrange...a social gathering--â
A wide, bright smile illuminated his young features as the older man stepped foot into his living quarters, though it didnât come without itâs hint of surprise at his sudden visit - and it was sudden, Sin having not received so much as a single warning beforehand. Normally, the fledgling would have clumsily rushed about in a panic, shoving soiled clothing into his laundry basket, and when that reached max capacity, kicked them underneath his bed, along with any leftover and forgotten dishware that he had decided to start growing Penicillin on months ago. So, he sat amongst the clutter and dismay, a warm, rosy-shade of embarrassment blossoming across his cheeks as his once boastful demeanor turned sheepishly.
Of course, it couldnât be all rainbows and sunshine when the two of them came together, Kyâs agitated breath signifying that a complaint was about to be lobbed his wayâŚand there it was.
âTskâŚ" Clicking his tongue, Sin combed his fingers through his dull locks, sweeping them away from his face. He was beginning to believe he was in desperate need of a hair cut before he could look even more like his fatherâŚit had been a few days since his previous grooming after all, and left untreated, heâd end up looking like nothing more than a walking, talking, and eating, mass of hair. "Alright, alrightâŚ" The joyful expression that graced his face seemed to falter at just the thought of biting his tongue, but it was for Ky, and as much as he hated to admit it, he would do anything for the man.
As the springs within his mattress whined and whimpered underneath the combined weight of the two, puzzlement etching itself over his youthful face. âYouâŚwant to listen to me talk?" Confusion held strong in his tone, matching the expression that warped his usual carefree smile. Not once had someone actually asked for him to speak, let alone regale them of his stories of traveling and living off the land. A disgruntled grunt of âshut the hell upâ was normally what he was custom to, but now - now he was being allowed to talk to his hearts content and would have someone who was more than happy to lend an ear.
W-What do I doâŚ
He grinned inwardly, but it soon found itâs way out, displaying outwardly for the other manâs eyes to see.
âU-Uh, okay! I got TONS of awesome stories! Like the time old man and I were ambushed and fought this HUGE white monstrous gear, wellâŚreally I just fought it by myself while he sat and smokedâŚâ Sin trailed off, tonguing his cheek momentarily before continuing, â â but also the time we fought a sea monster, er â I guess it was actually a lake monster because it was in a lake, but whatever! Water is water and a monster is a monster!â
They had something in common now, a connection they could share that finally allowed Ky to look Sin in the clear; and at the obvious puzzlement that befell his son's cheery visage , he quickly gave a word of reassurance. âYour mother and I would have desired no less than to have your voice be heard.â After all, it was himself that had silenced Sin away when he was at an age most vulnerable, and though Ky was regretful that he could not be the father he would have wished to have been--to see his child meet him with a smile rather than a scowl became an inspirational reminder that he was not lost in his ways. For it ignited not only a paternal love, but a sense that perhaps his negligence could be forgiven. As he listened, and watched Sinâs fleeting expressions under the light of day, he could only be left entertained in the boy's midst. âIs that so? I will be overwhelmed by your exploits should you provide any more detail.â Said the king as he let out a fine chortle, wishing that Dizzy were available to hear their son speak of such adventures.
He truly is an enthusiastic boy, Dizzy; he has your brilliance. I dream that the three of us may travel--together ...when times have become peaceful.
âI am relieved in the fact that you have survived such perils, all this time, Sin.â He then commented, as he placed a firm hand to his sonâs shoulder for a moment before parting it shortly after. He would have like to embrace him with both arms (or perhaps Sin would perfer something more rowdy in character), yet he shied away at the opportunity. His mother would probably be more fit in exchanging intimate gestures of that kind at this juncture. Satisfaction was present in his voice, however a speck of regret clouded his eyes in the fact that he was not there to see Sin grow as big as he was now. By âold manâ he must have been referring to Sol, since their time together in the castle he had been addressing the man as such. "But surely Sol must have supported you in situations that proved hazardous, yes?â His lips managed a weary smile as he made a poor attempt to speak positive of Sol, knowing him, he probably wouldn't have tried to put an ounce of effort until the life of one under his care was hanging by a thread. Yet, Sin had taken a great liking to him to the point where he had considered the man more a father figure than Ky himself, which he had no complaints in the result of that, but he could not deny to have been discouraged by the harsh truth.
The king folded his arms, drew his chin in, then closed his eyes and sunk into thought. I have known Solâs face for a number of years, Sin.â He began solemnly. Certainly nothing more than his face, since the brute exterior was all of which he had come to know of Sol, his origins and whereabouts remained shrouded in mystery in spite of their many encounters. âAnd for over a decade I believe I had only disliked him wholeheartedly.â He leaned back and inclined his head to face the ceiling. âI can only recall instances where we would clash swords without any hope for cooperation.â As if it were a story of the past that had long lost its shell, his persepctive of those events pales in comparison to previous years. "Sin, it makes me most joyous that you were able to--design your own beliefs.â He cleared his throat (since he intended to later comment on the mess of his surroundings in the end). âSol...has an independent flair to him that I am aware to have lacked...and would have not been able to provide had I made you remain by my side in Illyria. I am sorry.â

âYou can say that Iâm slipped by?â Shdwkyz replied coolly as he shrugs. âI mean I happened to stump upon here by accident.â Because the phantom is running away from a crime of slashing a officer and has no idea where he is after he used his shadow technique to slither through as a escape. âThough! I never met the great high king of lllyria in person. But Iâm very surprised that I get through all those security easily by this close. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.â
âNow Iâm not here to threaten you or anything but I must inform you of a problem I having right now.â The young slasher took note of the way the kingâs walking. âI do have a right to complain, donât I?â
The king gave no more of an expression than his disapproval in hearing the otherâs poorly constructed explanation. Surely there must have been another reason, for Ky held enough confidence in his servants being that they were veterans of the Sacred Order, and had dedicated themselves to him in the time he became King. Their abilities were by far no lost cause. But speaking of complaints, the king was reminded of having received many by the time he made the public proposal regarding the equity of humans and Gears. He received enough objections that the demand for him to relinquish his seat on the throne became increasingly known to him. However, he shook his head, at present it was not a matter of whether this person was threatening to Ky, but whether their presence was a threat to the mass majority around him, such as the civilians in Illyria--his people.Â
âAs a tresspasser who has breached supreme grounds without authorization or identity, I cannot deem you any right than a right to be questioned by security. You may clear of your problems from there on.â
For Dizzy, it was incredibly difficult for her to fathom the very idea that someone had taken the liberty of giving her a home; especially after finding out that it was Ky of all people who had volunteered. She was convinced that he hated her â he followed rules, he would never take in someone of a hated race, much less someone who was a wanted criminal.
Nevertheless, she was quite surprised when he justified his motives for helping her.
â IâŚI see. It makes enough sense, I suppose. UmâŚÂ â
She follows him inside, her boots clicking on the hardwood flooring. The room she enters is cozy, the very ideal of what a properly kept house should have been. Approval is evident in her stance, confidence surfacing for a moment before sinking back down to the depths in her head.
â Is it alright if I just call you Ky? â
He almost spaced out a while there as if he had for a moment forgot the reason to why he brought her along with him. Upon hearing her question, he answered. âHm? OhâŚYes, it is all right.â Sighing indefinitely he placed a hand to the nape of his neck. If only that single breath alone was the complete release of all his worries! It was a natural reaction that he would be tense, for he had just invited a lethal weapon into his home and put her into hiding, whichâshould he be found, the consequence would damage more than just his reputation. Perhaps he was trying too hard to deny himself the actions that contradicted his views and what he had done all his life. Had it never been for the decision to explore on his own accord, and their short exchange of words, then Ky wouldnât have thought that such a phenomenon could have ever occurred. Almost, as if there was hope in this winged creature, a hope he wished to seek out.
Closing the door behind him, Ky gestured to the girl to follow his steps. âItâs no grand mansion,â he said as he lead her to a square room, âbut you should be able to find that there is enough space for the both of us.â In the expanse of the room lay a clean bed and a stool with a lamp light that sat adjacent. A mahogany closet and desk with multi-purpose draws was placed snugly under the light of a half round window, furnished together with embroidered curtains opening toward sceneries of dense shrubbery. Originally having been a guest room, Ky was glad he had one to save him the trouble.
âIn any event Iâll have you stay in this room. I believe it contains all the essentials. I hope it may nevertheless be to your liking.â Folding his arms across his chest, he managed a faint smile and rolled his eyes in thought before returning his attention to his permanent guest. âWhen I was making arrangements with the Jellyfish Pirates, they had addressed you as Dizzyâ...Dizzy, could that be your name?â A name not related to the truth that she was a Gear would relieve Ky a great deal, besides the fact, it gave her a sense of being unique to herself in belonging to the same world as he.
