Just a few days prior to the cursed sizeable haul, Cecco had been persuaded by one of the Righteous Harpy's crew, a man named Danik, they had been particularly close to during their travels, to get their ears pierced. If there was one person aboard that vessel, who could convince the quartermaster to give in to 'silly antics', it was him. They had sailed all over the world, it felt like. Spilled blood alongside each other and gotten far beyond drunk together. Aboard the ship, or on land, the two were inseparable. So what was one more adventure for the duo? Even if Cecco didn't believe anything but a bit of pain would come from it, Danik was fond of these silly superstitions, as many sailors and pirates especially, were. He believed that by having given Cecco a golden hoop in their ear, that it would bring the Righteous Harpy good fortune, and, in the unlikely event that the quartermaster ever found their way in the merciless waters, the gold would prevent them from meeting a watery grave. So with a bit of ripped fabric, and a slightly bent needle stolen from their surgeon, Danik gleefully began. He even gave them his own golden hoops, which were worn with pride. Now, Cecco isn't a superstitious person, per se, but given the haul that had been bestowed upon them by Neptune's good graces, it was hard for them to deny that the loop in their ear had given them a certain grandiosity. (Though it was a rather short lived advent) Even now however, as a part of Hook's crew, they can be seen absentmindedly fiddling with the golden hoops that never leave their ears. They won't admit it out loud, but they can only wonder if it was for the gold, that they avoided meeting the same fate as the majority of their prior crewmates. Wondering if perhaps Danik would have been the one to survive if he never gave up the hoops.
Whether they are on land, or fulfilling tasks on deck, Cecco can be found creating their own chants and shanties. Having grown up in the Kingdom of Italy, residing in the ocean front town of Naples, it was common to hear singing among the commoners who found it to be one of the few joys they could occupy their free time with. There was the Filangieri Museum, sure, and if you were lucky, you could have gone to the Galleria Principe di Napoli, but there was so little free time for the folk who had to ensure they could survive throughout the month with their families. Cecco was fond of listening to sailors sing from within pubs whenever they docked. There was something about how lively the shanties were, something about the stories of epic monsters and grand heroes resonated with them. Each time they joined up with a new crew, they would attempt to create or learn a new shanty, one that they would associate with that specific crew, that precious time in their life.
Wanted Connections
{For a crewmate of the Jolly Roger} If someone were to bump against the pillow of Cecco's cot, a tattered leather bound book would become dislodged from its hiding spot. Letters scatter to the floor, all of which are addressed to different people, none of them are crew members of the Jolly Roger, however! They are addressed to their old brother and sisters in arms from the Righteous Harpy. With peaked curiosity, someone might have read these letters, gaining a glimpse in to the quartermasters past.
{For a Lost Boy or a Smallfolk} Late night meetings. A parental relationship that developed purely on accident. Despite how skeptical Cecco is with everyone who is not a member of the crew, they cannot help the swell within their chest when they see someone in need of help, regardless of where their allegiance resides. They have taken a liking to this person, and wants to ensure their safety, from anything that dares to threaten it.
{For anyone} There are few people Cecco is willing to share stories of their past with, at least, the less glorified bits and pieces. Lessons they have learned from betrayals and mutinies. They confide in this person, and consider them a true friend. There is a part within their soul that has yearned to be filled since the Righteous Harpy burned. Since they lost Danik.
