“Great job, buddy.” Ethan held his hand up to Aiden. It was getting easier for him to be excited for Aiden’s athletic successes.

Aiden beamed again, and went back to his dinner. Charlotte smiled, looking over at her husband.

Ethan sent her a wink before going back to his food.

Amelia hadn’t slept much since Ethan was taken, trying with everything she had to find him. She rubbed her eyes in frustration and sighed, looking at the footage tape of a store that was nearby. It barely caught the fact of the hydra agents. “Ethan…where are you?” She muttered. She had been working alone, hiding this case from Coulson. She didn’t know what he would say.

Upon a cursory glance around, he could tell he was somewhere below ground. After a few minutes, he heard a train rattle the ceiling above him. A plate of stale bread sat a few feet out of reach, but he was too exhausted to move. A heavy chain was shackled to his ankle, then bolted to the wall. There were no bars in his cell, only a door with a hole to slide a tray through, but he could hear the moans of others through it.

“Three!?” He asked with a smile.

Aiden nodded, still smiling. “Yeah!”

"Great job, buddy." Ethan held his hand up to Aiden. It was getting easier for him to be excited for Aiden's athletic successes.

Ethan raised his eyebrows and looked at Aiden expectantly.

“I got three home runs!” Aiden crowed, eyes gleaming happily.

"Three!?" He asked with a smile.

He nodded, and then looked meaningfully at the kids. Ethan didn’t like to talk about his health – physical or mental – in front of the kids.

“Good,” she nodded as well, glancing at the kids before looking down at her plate. “A, why don’t you tell your dad about what happened in gym today.”

Ethan raised his eyebrows and looked at Aiden expectantly.

He shook his head and picked up his fork. “It’s fine, Char. I’m just glad to be here.”

“Good,” she smiled a bit, and began to eat as well. “You feeling okay?”

He nodded, and then looked meaningfully at the kids. Ethan didn't like to talk about his health -- physical or mental -- in front of the kids.

“Why would I mind that you made your favorite?”

She shrugged. “I don’t know…I just figured you’d want your favorite once you got home but…it was easy…”

He shook his head and picked up his fork. "It's fine, Char. I'm just glad to be here."
