“I shook my tambourine the whole time, because it helped me remember that even though I was going through different neighborhoods, I was still me.“
Thomas Horn & Max von Sydow in Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close
My father died at 9-11. After he died I wouldn’t go into his room for a year because it was too hard and it made me want to cry. But one day, I put on heavy boots and went in his room anyway.. - Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close (2011, Stephen Daldry)

"Hector Black sure liked to hug."
"He hugged me 17 times. I wanted to get away, but he just kept on hugging."
"He promised us that everything would be OK. I was a child, but I knew that everything would not be OK. That did not make my father a liar. It made him my father.”

My Father’s Closet
I thought about waking her. But it was unnecessary. There would be other nights. And how can you say I love you to someone you love? I rolled on my side and fell asleep next to her. Here is the point of everything I’ve been trying to tell you, Oskar. It’s always necessary. I love you ~ Grandma ~
It’s been almost 2 years since this movie came out
Mom told me, “It probably gets pretty lonely to be Grandma, don’t you think?”

"Smile, even though it’s breaking. Light up your face with gladness. Hide every trace of sadness. Although a tear may be ever so near. You’ll find that life is still worthwhile if you just smile.”
Happy Sweet Seventeen, Tommy :) It’s been great to know a wonderful actor like you. We hope you’ll make more appearances in the future.

Nine Students Named National Merit Semifinalists
by Remy Afong and Kelli Nguyen | September 10, 2014
Nine seniors have achieved National Merit Semifinalist status, putting them one step closer toward winning a National Merit Scholarship.
Seniors Remy Afong, Thomas Horn, Alex Krenitsky, Andrew Moy, Drake Palmer, Jackson Roberts, Sam Thacher, Will Thacher and Eric Zhang are among the 16,000 students now in the running to become Finalists.
Of the approximately 1.4 million entrants, less than one percent of juniors who took the PSAT earned scores qualifying them for Semifinalist standing. The cutoff score for California was 222 out of a possible 240.
From the pool of Semifinalists, approximately 15,000 will advance to Finalist standing by displaying high academic performance determined by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). Students will be notified in February if they have been selected.
Between March and mid-June, NMSC selectors will award scholarships to about 7,600 Finalists based on skill, ability and accomplishments.
