Carb Loading.
For all of the runners, tri-athletes and iron men and women out there. Carb loading, contrary to popular belief, is not eating a large bowl of pasta the night before your event.
The real low-down on carb loading? You need to drain your glycogen stores! How do we acheive this? A WEEK before your event is when this starts! 6 days out, for 3 days, limit, limit, limit carbohydrate intake to basically 000000! It's all about proteins and fats right now. Work out, yes, it will be a terrible workout. However! You want to drain yourself of carbohydrate stores! Flash forward, 3 days before event, eat around 70% carbohydrates and only work out lightly.
Event time. Your carohyrates are at an all time high. Don't worry about the three days of bad practices, your carbs are ready with your energy you need.
