as to your tags about my favorite 2025 reads—if you read poetry at ALL, PLEASE pick up Call Us What We Carry by Amanda Gorman. I'm begging. She's my favorite modern poet, possibly my favorite ever poet, and I am so obsessed. I almost never buy a book immediately after reading it, but I had this book en route so fast. It came, and I was carrying it around with me, performing excerpts to my family and friends, shoving pages in their face for them to read while I looked at them with big wet eyes and they went ....uh huh.
But I HAD to have it, so I could reread my favorites over and over until they're tattooed on the back of my skull. I know the exact page number of "Alarum," page 63:

I believe the idea that Keefe is a jock comes from two points of canon evidence: (a) that he's muscular, and (b) that he's a fan of (and plays with Fitz and Biana) sports games like Bramble. Though Fitz definitely seems to be a bigger and nerdier sports fan, and I believe it's also canon that Biana is better at Bramble than either Fitz or Keefe, so you can make an argument either way—and your argument should include jock Biana.
WHAT IF we were both ex-superheroes, because after Elysian successfully wiped out all superpowers on the planet, superheroes ceased to exist. Supposedly. And you had gone back to your normal life. But then I showed up one day and knew who you were—your secret identity you had tried to hide—and I convinced you to come with me back to Foxfire to try again. Because I believed that superheroes were always going to be needed, and I knew that you, Sophie Foster, no matter how much you resisted me, would not be able to rest if there were people in need. Sophie worked her jaw muscles against each other slowly. “And why would I do that? Have you got Gandalf there, to give me back my magic powers?” Fitz blew out a breath, but she could have sworn his mouth twitched. “You don’t need powers to do amazing things, Sophie.” She swallowed hard, but it didn’t release the lump in her throat. “But I do need powers to come back from the dead a thousand times,” she said, dropping her voice close to a whisper. “I… I’m not the same Sophie who had a permanent bed in the Healing Center. I’m not. I…” I’m scared, she finished, but couldn’t force the words past her lips. He knew anyway. He’d never needed Telepathy to know what she was thinking.

The first phase of preparation is tag nominations, which open May 31 at 8:59 PM CDT and remain open until June 10 at 8:59 PM CDT. To participate, you need an AO3 account, so make sure to request an invite if you haven't before.

hey no big deal but please don't use the word "crippling" to describe mental health issues 👍 "cripple" is a slur related to physical disabilities (especially visible disabilities in the back/legs), so it should be kept to reclamation and educational contexts.
if what you're looking to describe is a disability, "disabling" is a good substitute, or if you're looking to emphasize the severity of something non-disabling, "severe" should work. thank you!
since this post is suddenly gaining traction (they put me in the processing vortex), I'd like to clarify that I post about one singular semi-obscure fandom 95% of the time, and this post was originally targeted towards that fandom. totally cool to spread this post outside the fandom, but no reason to stick around here outside that. love to my disabled siblings, and peace out ✌️
Tomodachi Day 3 Updates
We have two new islanders: Linh and Marella! Both randomly determined to be bisexual by the wheel of fate. Marella has immediately been a huge gossip in a fantastic way.
And I gave Linh a jellyfish as a pet that she and everyone else are obsessed with.
Keefe told me that he thinks Fitz has a crush on him. This is objectively untrue, but I told him that he's right anyway to inflate his ego.
Fitz introduced Biana and Sophie to each other, and they bonded over slumber parties. Canon image <3
Biana and Dex also became friends, bonding over a shared love of Slurps and Burps
Mrs. Stinkbottom has told me multiple times that she's really into dating Sophie. I'm not sure how to feel about that.
Despite my objections, Sophie no longer has a crush on Fitz. This caused her to go into yet another sadness for a while.
I completely forgot that I set Keefe and Mrs. Stinkbottom as related to each other, but they moved in together and now recognize each other as relatives. It's honestly very sweet.
And some of the biggest news: Keefe has a crush on Tam! They also had a conversation where they bonded over... taking photos of hair gel? Sure, close enough.
They were then running around chasing each other in circles, and when I interrupted them to introduce Keefe to Marella, Tam stood behind him like this.

Okay this is where we get into some real drama. So first off, I delayed introducing her to Keefe (next mii), because I didn't want them to mess with my chances of Sophitz. THEN, when I finally introduced them, homegirl IMMEDIATELY develops a crush on Keefe. I tell her she's imagining things. No disrespect to Sokeefe shippers, but you have canon.
THEN. She develops a crush on Fitz! Incredible! This is what I wanted! I get her a new room. I get her a new outfit. I tell her to confess her love romantically. It's a beautiful scene.
Fitz says no.
I'm so mad.
She spends the rest of the day depressed, which is why she knows almost no one else (because she refused to talk to anyone), and then when she comes out of it, she STILL has a crush on Fitz. Darling... Like. I want this for you. But. He said no.
Her favorite foods are apples and peanuts, and her least favorite food is mallowmelt!!! I tried to give it to her when she was sad, and she rejected it out of hand!
