Meet my little brother Jamie, he’s 8 years old and loves to wear dresses. Tonight was the first night I’ve ever put makeup on him. This is the happiest I’ve ever seen him. His dad (my stepdad) doesn’t allow him to wear clothes like this, even if he’s just playing in the house. He says that dresses are made for girls and gay men. But my sister and I strongly disagree. Wearing dresses doesn’t mean Jamie is gay, it means that he likes wearing dresses. I want my brother to grow up knowing that it’s okay to dress however you want. The only thing I want is for my brother to be happy, like he was tonight, for the rest of his life. I just want him to be able to be himself 24/7.

A Basquiat Sells for ‘Mind-Blowing’ $110.5 Million at Auction

Joining the rarefied $100 million-plus club in a salesroom punctuated by periodic gasps from the crowd, Jean-Michel Basquiat’s powerful 1982 painting of a skull brought $110.5 million at Sotheby’s, to become the sixth most expensive work ever sold at auction. Only 10 other works have broken the $100 million mark.

She is a 23 year old girl who is blaming herself for the deaths and injuries of dozens right now. The bomb was detonated at a key time when there would be as many victims as possible. It was packed with nails so that the maximum amount of damage could be achieved. Among the victims were young girls, children, an off-duty police officer and parents who were waiting to pick their children up. A man who ran to the scene to help reported helping to pull nails out of a child’s face. There are people still missing, still in critical condition, still being treated for injuries.

I love this moment.  I love it, because Agent Carter she is historically accurate.

American servicemen serving in the UK were issued pamphlets reminding them that the UK women had been in that war longer than the Americans had and deserved their respect:

A British woman officer or non-commissioned officer can and often does give orders to a male private. The men obey smartly and know it is no shame. For British women have proven themselves in this war. They have stuck to their posts near burning ammunition dumps, delivered messages afoot after their motorcycles have been blasted from under them. They have pulled aviators from burning planes. They have died at the gun posts and as they fell another girl has stepped directly into the position and “carried on.” There is not a single record in this war of any British woman in uniformed service quitting her post or failing in her duty under fire.

Now you understand why British soldiers respect the women in uniform. They have won the right to the utmost respect. When you see a girl in khaki or air-force blue with a bit of ribbon on her tunic - remember she didn’t get it for knitting more socks than anyone else in Ipswitch.
