ethereal transmissions

there was a man at the side of the road selling small treasures

bursting with joy i randomly picked up two shells that were so old they had become stone

they were warm and earthy, but with splashes of vibrant colors and complex mineral textures  

yet they were polished and pleasantly smooth to the touch

in a word, they were beautiful and breathtaking

and of course they reminded me of you

the man said, “they look like a perfect match”

and that was all i needed to hear

i cradled them in my open palm

one faced east, the other opposite; towards the west

one was a little darker, the other a little lighter

and i realized right then that to me they looked so much like

the yin and the yang

the sacred duality of interconnected interdependence

these two shells were compliments of each other

and representative of this idea of oneness

that i had been pondering all day

i closed my hand tightly around them and looked towards the heavens

i longed deeply for you

then i gave the man all the money i had for these two gemstones

it wasn’t much, but i looked him directly in his eyes

and gave him the gratitude I had in my soul as well

for simply being at this place at this time with these pretty shells

i placed them in a bag that hangs over my heart

I’ve grown suddenly so much wiser

in my time down by the water of the river.

As the trees danced in the strong winds of the canyon

they looked like a living oil painting

and as the sun started to dip below the tree line

my mind regarded the nature of time and life, our earth and the cosmos

and how we’re all one, within us and outside of us

the very substance that unites us, effortlessly permeates us

like diffusion through a phospholipid bi-layer membrane surface

just exactly as if we are the cells that make up the entire body of our planet

we’re all getting older with each passing second

but the moment felt as though it could possibly last forever

though the desire was strong

deep down i knew it could never actually be any less fleeting

but i learned that it wasn’t too late to open up my heart

that which has been closed off for so long

and let the people in that have been

trying for so long to invite me into their own

that love for others is the most important thing we have in this life

uniting and truly making our bond covalent

sacrificing selfishness so that we may truly be together as people

and finally, that those really deep connections you make with another person

are by no means any kind of coincidence

we come into each other’s lives for divine reasons

to deliver messages that the other needs to know

to reveal answers that each of us is seeking

in order to grow and reach the zenith of our existence

someone helps me find out and i help someone else find out

and around it goes until we all make the discoveries we require

often i thought about you in my time out there

between the two of us i am not concerned with anything

that could be less important

than simply knowing you.

there is a reason i happened upon you

and fixated my attention upon you

I know I can make a positive impact

And help you get past the obstacles that keep you from growing

In order to find the happiness you’ve always lacked

i am not a needy individual

but i want you in my life

just as much as

i want to be in yours

the next time I return

i want to bring you to this place

even as i must right now

give you your space

sometimes we need to fall back

in order to move forward

a memory of an online whisper murmurs of a digital rendition words in messages that grow ever more infrequent kept apart only to fade into lives lived strictly in the abstract paths never to intersect even as my journey grinds on having benefited simply from knowing and hoping that you’re out there, somewhere right now at this very moment finding all the peace, harmony, creativity   and happiness you’ve ever wanted but yet craving to give you something important to share time spent face to face aspiring to inspire right back help you find the light as I have it’s fitting considering i may have never found it on my own 

not without your subtle indirect influence

I wonder if you’ll ever let me properly thank you

for sparking this new and exciting opportunity for being the overwhelming reason why the currently lush bounty of my creative mind miraculously began blooming once again after so many years of decrepit decay it’s been made fertile after so long and i am overflowing with appreciation undoubtedly indebted to you because of course that which was once barren is now very much alive
