🤫 This is a report snippet from the second preselection for MagmaFest2011, where Nace participated with his previous band 'Success'. They named their band after the English textbook.

So, in this interview right after the gig Kris says 'that was all planned' about Bojan's pants ripping, which coincides with KK tiktok in where they shove the rips being in the design
Also Kris about the outfits:
He also also says they saw them right before Karneval. So, they had virtually no say about their outfits and his 'it's a perfect compromise' and Jan's 'sparkledarkative' is pretty much bullshit and an attempt to somehow justify them wearing these
Then, a day later:
Bojan pretty much says he didn't know his pants are gonna rip and Kris says he was surprised his outfit stayed intact. Meanwhile, Nace's very much didn't and there were pics in where you can see Jan's pants also ripping up around those little chains along the seams.
So maybe the fabric was so shit exactly cos it had to fit the ripping design for Bojan and Nace just got into the crossfire, or maybe the fabric KK bought turned out to be crap and they went 'oh shit, it's gonna rip so let's make it a feature and not a bug!!' I'm not sure even whether Bojan was that enthusiastic about his pants disintegrating on national TV or just had to go with it cos there was no other option. And when he denied knowing his pants were gonna fall apart it could be him trying to save his face and imply he didn't sign up for it.
Either way, this was not a collaboration, no compromises were made, they did not want dark outfits, Nace definitely did not deserve his pants ripping on TV, the fits were boring and all the ideas were recicled from the previous years - and all of that for the biggest gig of their career, celbrating their 10 years as a band. These designs were not about Joker Out, the designs were about KK brand wanking about their own shitty ideas, as it's been the case for a while now. If they have some sort of a contract going on, very much hope it ends soon so we can see JO wearing something fun, whimsical and quality made again.
it's been a week since karneval, so let's do a little recap of my time in slovenia :) in addition to the normal gig report i always do, i wanted to write a little longer more personal report about the whole experience just for funsies
18.6.
it should be illegal having to wake up at 3:30 to go to the airport
you could probably guess that the plane from helsinki to ljubljana was packed with fans
i'm glad i got early check in to my hostel bc i could just immediately leave my luggage in the room and go shopping for clothes bc i forgot my planned karneval outfit at home and also don't have too many hot weather clothes
i also went to check out the venue and only planned to walk by it, but then i heard bojan's voice and music started playing, so i went to investigate to the vip entrance and found out that he was rehearsing some songs with the circus performers
went to bed before 9 bc it felt like past midnight
19.6.
did some shopping at spar in the morning and bought some souvenirs (joker out drinks and cedevita) to bring back home
i decided to go queue for sneak peek at sometime past noon and it was chill but also very hot even though we were in the shade
talked to so many nice people and got a lot of freebies <3
went to the nearby subway to grab a sub and go to the bathroom and the guy working there was super nice
when i saw the children's choir i actually got emotional bc i was a choir kid myself and i was thinking about like how cool this opportunity must be for them
i spent most of the sneak peek looking at the circus performers or looking at the band looking at the circus performers bc wow they were even better than i expected
also i feel like the band was still kinda nervous about everything working as it should little did they know
i got a selfie with jan and jure after so yay
20.6.
went to a spar. again. to grab some joker out drinks. again.
went to the venue a couple of hours before doors, realized that i'd left my earplugs at the hostel, went to get them, and got back. during that time the same ticket inspectors scanned my ticket three times on the bus
now tell me why do i not seem finnish bc during this weekend i got like three surprised "oh wow i didn't know you were finnish" when i responded to finns in finnish??
went in through the other entrance bc there was only like a handful of people there when everyone else was on the other side
went to the merch stand. actually waited for what felt like almost an hour bc the payment system didn't work :/ did get a tote bag and the cups though
i basically only had time to get merch, go to the bathroom, buy water, sit down for like 10 minutes bc when i went to check out the queue to fan pit i suddenly found myself in the middle of this packed crowd and couldn't exit anymore
i've still got a huge bruise on my ankle bc some people wanted to be dicks and push themselves in even though there was no space
the first drops of rain started falling down and at first it was refreshing, but as we all know it suddenly turned into this massive storm
i was actually surprised when alter ace started playing (though late) bc the rain was getting worse and the wind was damaging the stage and the organizers were running around the stage looking very worried
then we got the command to get away from the stage and everyone started screaming and running towards the tents, which were already full of people
it honestly felt so hopeless, being there all wet from the rain, standing in what was now a huge pond, hearing the thunder and checking the rain radar for any signs of the rain stopping
after what felt like an eternity, the weather got better and people started running towards the fan pit. saw lots of people around me with no fan pit bracelets btw :/
i almost went to the hostel at this point to change and actually got out of the venue, but when i heard that the show was on i took my shoes off and got back to the fan pit
käärijä is always fun and i loved seeing even non-finns around me vibing to the performance
i'm not gonna recap the whole concert bc it would just be too much but i have some points i wanted to make
karlo kirri pls give them more durable clothes
it was refreshing seeing kris on the catwalk bc i'm never on the left side of the stage at their gigs. also the eyeliner? slay
the audio went out during plastika (i think?) and they only got it back during ona. i don't think the band even noticed it at first, at least bojan looked really confused when people were trying to tell him
bojan has gotten so much better at pronouncing finnish in cha cha cha! like i didn't even realize at first that it was him singing the beginning lmao
every performer on stage was so freaking talented like oh my god
novi val was sooo emotional and i cried my eyes out
at some point in the middle of the gig i got a message from my mom saying that my brother's girlfriend had given birth and i was now an aunt. talk about a day i'll never forget
after the gig i went to the merch stand to buy chocolate and met up with my lovely joblr friends <3
we somehow ended up talking to martin and we talked about being gluten free bassists lmao. he was super sweet asking me if i'd been able to find any food and he told me that he'd been adding a lot of recommendations on the find me gluten free app
also made an accidental surprise appearance being in the background of gušti's interview for the karneval documentary
we walked back to the hostel, clothes all wet and feet hurting so much, but the day had honestly been worth it
21.6.
only slept for 3 and a half hours bc someone in the room next door didn't want to wake up to their alarm
had such a fun meetup with other fans! it was so nice hanging out with you all :) hope you enjoyed the ananas lonkero <3
i'd uploaded gig vids on tiktok in the morning and thought i'd been shadowbanned or something bc they were not doing well, but then i came back to the hostel in the evening after dinner to check the app on my ipad and holy shit one of them had over 50k views??
then i went to bed bc i was super tired and had an early flight and i needed to pack my bags in the morning
