Press for Superman has been going on a little while now, and I feel like the constant theme for myself is being completely out of touch with most everything in recent pop culture. Like I can't tell you if I'm having a brat summer, because I have no idea what that means. Don't ask me what my favorite song release from the last year is, because chances are good I haven't heard any songs from that timeframe. I feel like reporters are often either frustrated by me or mystified by me for having no idea about these things. Though lucky for them, my costars are there to carry me through by explaining things and make up for me being completely clueless with all their knowledge. So, when someone compared me to Miranda Priestley and her assistants for how much they have to feed me information, I got excited because hey, I actually recognized that reference. I'll be happy when press is over and I can retreat back into my world of old time jazz, Star Wars, and my daughter. i've seen some of the press and i'll admit i found it funny that you were a little out of touch with recent pop culture -- there were a few things that cracked me up when you were asked. my favorite was when you told the joke about the outfit being the square root of 64 and getting the punch line all wrong, then looking at rachel with the sweetest expression and going, but your dress is a ten, or something along the lines of that, and i couldn't help but think you were too pure for this world. i feel like anyone that interviewed you had to feel the same way, there's no way they couldn't have. but bless you for pop culture and gen z stuff confusing you so much -- i love it. when will the press be over for you? i hope it's soon so you get to relax with your jazz, star wars and your daughter! how old is she by the way? and what's your favorite star wars film? is that like really hard to choose? i'm sorry if it is! and i haven't gotten to go see superman yet, but i am going sometime this week! || @corenswethq

There's always next year for the joke, and people will have plenty of time since they'd heard it to laugh all over again. I'm glad to hear your last year was brilliant, and I hope this year is treating you the same way so far! I just feel like time's not something we're guaranteed, so why not change your life in the ways you'd like right now? No one should wait to do that. I know what you mean when I'm always trying to improve myself as well, and there's nothing wrong with making the goal to be a better person. I know it's probably a bit strange when a lot of people don't like the smell of cigarette smoke, but I guess I just find it comforting when it sticks to clothes and the like, when you can smell it that way. i love the way you think -- and knowing me, i will tell that joke again next year because it cracks me up every time! this year has been brilliant so far as well. i'm so lucky with all the projects i'm doing! and fallout was picked up for a third season, which made me want to cry i'm so happy. that's exactly how i feel, like you never know when your time is up. i had a bad fall down some stairs not that long ago and knocked myself out, and it really made me look at things differently, even more so now, and it made me want to change even more things in my life, you know? it made me want to prioritize different things, and that's another part of wanting to improve myself as well. and yeah, being a better person just makes sense. even if i'm not an asshole normally -- i feel like you can always be better no matter what. no, i understand if it's a comfort thing, especially if it makes you think of your boyfriend and your best friend, which i still can't help but think is the sweetest thing ever. and vaping hardly has any smell, honestly, a little fruity depending on what vape juice you use! and honestly, now i'm addicted to vaping and smoking, so i can't win right now. but vaping you can do in public spaces more because most people don't realize you're doing it -- so i can't help but like that. and thank you! i used to hate the name ella for some reason, but i think it was just to rebel against my parents, now i love it. and thank you, because i really would love your input! you're not traveling? that's great news! are you working on something new? or are you with your boyfriend on his set? || @teaguehq

Do you ever have those random moments when you realize being an adult is such a great thing? Looking past all the ways it's sometimes stressful, I mean, and just embracing the personal perks of adulthood? For instance, my parents used to only allow us one, maybe two sugary treats a month in our household, and that's if we were lucky. So of course now, I eat desserts damn near every day, and there's always a lot of excitement around having cupcakes or donuts or iced coffee, all the things I know would have made my parents cringe. Not to mention all the occasions for celebratory cake. And I always do that with a lot of delight because hey, I can make or order and eat as many treats as I'd like. Never claimed I was a responsible adult, but you know, if that means having sweets, that's fine with me. So, what's your favorite part about adulthood? oh all the time -- but i also have a lot of random moments wondering who on earth decided i should be an adult, you know? because i really don't think i should be, i think a lot of the time i have a lot of childlike qualities, and i probably shouldn't be doing adult things, you know? oh goodness, though, your parents didn't let you have a lot of sugary treats? the riots i would have led had that been me -- because my sweet tooth is that of legends, and i wouldn't have been able to handle only having two sugary treats a month! and my sweet tooth has only gotten worse since i've gotten older too, i feel like. i think when you drink my iced coffee, you have to wonder where the coffee is a lot of the time because it's so sweet. and i will bake a cake for any small thing you can celebrate -- like my friends' daughter's hamster's birthday, i made a cake. so, just throwing it out there, clearly you and i need to be friends or something. especially if there's cupcake sharing involved! as for my favorite part of adulthood, i feel like it's not having a bedtime. is that silly? i hated having a bedtime as a child, and now i can stay up as late as i want, which is awesome. or go to bed as early as i want -- which often happens, because i'm secretly an old lady who goes to bed early. like, my mates asked me to come hang out with them after 9 the other night, and i was like, sorry, i'm in bed already. who goes out after 9? || @dastmalchianhq

And well, considering how quickly time passes and how old I feel sometimes, it wouldn't surprise me to blink and suddenly I'm 80 and on the verge of a cemetery party! Though you have anxiety about death? Now I feel a little bad cracking jokes since never my intent to make it worse. You thought I was in my early 40s? Far be it for me to ruin that illusion with my actual age, then. I appreciate that you're a fan as well! I've nothing against anyone asking my age, though naturally if they think I'm younger, I'll just go with that number. I guess the whole surviving an apocalypse makes me look more brave than I actually am, but no, I've plenty of fears. Watching myself on screen is one of them, as silly as it probably sounds. And I do worry about not having the time to do everything I'd like to do, and I guess another side effect of being older is wanting to make sure I'm not wasting any of it. So in short, keeping busy and watching myself without getting sick, I hope. Do I still seem fearless?
