This was episode 5. They received the scripts for this episode the first week of August. This week Patrick deleted divorce songs from his Langdon playlist.

This, to me, confirms that up until this point they thought Langdon was divorced (lack of ring when coming to work, his locker combo being Mel’s birthday, the heavy focus on the ring when he examined Mel, the anniversary patient etc) and THEN they changed their minds and mentioned Abby in episode 5 and that they were still happily married. Notice of Dana and Langdon also speak positively about Abby.

Several episodes go by, and no divorce hint. No Mel and Langdon scenes either.

Then they changed their minds again, which is why the Louie scene got cut in edits months later. Now there are a ton of divorce hints, Langdon cuts off a wedding ring, he avoids speaking about his wife, then Mel scenes return full force.

So we end the season ambiguously. Who know what will happen in S3? I think this is why Patrick seems to torn and confused about Langdon’s marriage and its status.
