Iām having a day of daytime television and feeling sorry for myself thanks to the nasty winter blues and germs (yes, ew). So I thought Iād share with you my favourite remedies- a simple cup of tea. Forget your milky PG Tips, itās time to explore what I think are some of the most refreshing and also comforting steamy treats.Ā
Lapsang Souchong has a wonderful wood smokey taste, itās benefits are said to be promoting healthy blood flow, strengthening immunity and itās also a popular diet tea as it may help burn fat faster.
You would be mad not to treat yourself to a cup of green tea at least a few times a week. Personally I find it can have a slightly bitter taste sometimes, but it also has a huge number of lovely, positive things for your body such as antioxidants that help your body get rid of and fight nasties from fat to diabetes or cancer.
Lemon and ginger tea is equally as good- while making your insides feel great it also can help with looking after skin and hair.
Rose Pouchong is another Chinese tea that I have recently come to love- it has a beautiful rose aroma and slight sweetness. Iām currently feeling the benefits as itās soothing on a sore throat (many of these teas are) while being able to enjoy itās relaxing fragrance.
Finally, Earl Grey is my everyday weakness, but for good reasons; it helps you keep hydrated and energised as well as having a calming affect when you need a moment. It is also seen to be a natural cold remedyā¦(Iāll let you know if thereās any truth in that)
So there you go, my 5 favourite teas, best served super hot with no milk, but fairly weak (don't keep the teabag in long) Ā to avoid any bitter tastes -Iād love to know if thereās any more good flavours out there for me to try!
