After season 2 i was hit by a lot of videos of parasocial people in the PJO TV series fandom, and yes I'm addressing them as not the PJO fandom, because it's basically a whole new fandom.
My point is that the PJO fandom already has grown up, the series just became an adaptation, a simple and fun thing, it's cool to watch and all. Like it's cool seeing the cast, seeing Percy finally be portrayed by an actor close to his age and all.
And that's where the problem starts, the cast, a lot of people online became parasocial, obsessing, thirsting like never before, creating fake scenarios and rumours and even sexualizing them.
Entering the PJO fandom on Twitter now became just sexualization of the cast, it's very rare to see cool posts. TikTok became a hellhole, it's filled with teenagers who sexualize, self-insert and even write about it(no problem in writing fanfiction, but not about REAL people).
My point is, if people don't start separating the PJO TV serie fandom from the PJO books fandom, we'll start to get the Harry Potter fans treatment. As the new fandom is basically corroding the image of such an amazing series of books, and being honest, it could lead to serious PR issues.
I'm not an expert, so this is just my opinion, feel free to write what you think, and be respectful. Thx for reading, bye xoxo

So I finished reading Mark of Athena, and here's my opinions and thoughts, which means this my opinion who's based on my own bias and experiences while reading, so any criticism that's not constructive will not be tolerated(you were warned).
Characters whole arc is another character
First thing which annoyed me is how half of the cast it's just a character who's glued to another one, no single personality, it's just some type of parasite who's sole purpose is to be glued to another character.
My first example is Piper, she's constantly mentioning how Jason is her boyfriend, how she's scared of not being his girlfriend anymore, and not just a couple of times, it's almost every chapter of her POV is being thrown at my face this.
On the Lost Hero, I liked her a lot because she was a character with her own personality, and her whole ancestry background, for me she was perfect, but now on Mark of Athena, her whole character development was reduced to: "Jason is my boyfriend, if he breaks up with me I'll cry", maybe it's too radical to think like that, but her chapters don't revolve around her, only revolve with Jason.
She literally has the most powerful persuasion any demigod has, and always she keeps implying she can't do it, like girl, go drink some confidence tea.
Leo
Very controversial, but I couldn't stand him, he always making jokes who's definitely not invited, and he keeps acting like a douche for the sole purpose of: "I'm the outcast", if it was me, bet you would.
On the first book, he's funny and enjoyable, but on Mark of Athena, he just became a cruel joke and Rick keeps replaying it.
Leo is not the fun character anymore, he's more like reading a dog being kicked around again and again, and it genuinely hurt me, not because the story was sad, but because of how even the writer made Leo be unpleasant.
Reducing Luke to pure nothing
YES I HATED ANNABETH'S MENTION OF LUKE!
Luke whole character was how the gods were using the demigods and how they deserved more, but Annabeth just reduces him to "oh yeah he had a crush on me", he literally lost everything to give her a better life, and that's how you thank him? Girl you deserved falling to Tartarus, sorry not sorry.
Even Percy had a better view of him, how he understood Luke and self questioned if he's just a pawn, but Annabeth just mentions Luke as a weirdo creep.
Jason and the forced rivalries
Yes if you force your other friend group into your main one it's not going to bond instantly, but damn that forced rivalry was pure bullshit. Leo and Frank in one small conversation could resolve their differences about Hazel, but Percy and Jason just seemed forced and the constant push of "What if a Poseidon kid fought a Zeus one?".
They could just resolve everything with a small conversation, as even Thalia and Percy resolved their differences, but Jason and Percy? Oh no, they have to keep comparing them both unfairly, both have strengths and weakness, and one can support the other, not just reduce them to Zeus and Poseidon bickering.
Why the heck does Jason need to be unconscious almost the entire book? Like you don't know what to do with him? Or is he too "interesting" to actually write about?
I like Jason, but I find him just meh, he doesn't have something that make him, him, he's just a blonde two goody shoes with super overpowered powers, almost a himbo, not a lot of exploration of character he has, it's like the entire book he's there to just feed Piper's insecurities.
That's my opinion, my own bias and experiences, I accept criticism but as I said, if it's not constructive, I won't tolerate it. Thanks for reading, byeee xoxo.
While watching the Percy Jackson Disney+ series, I got to think some things that are interesting and create depth on where the book couldn't. Ps: They're just my observations, feel free to add your opinions and thoughts or discuss any point that I spoke off.
Percy's motivation
Multiple times during the series Percy is constantly questions himself, is he doing the right thing? I personally think that Percy biggest self question is when Luke says "we don't call them monsters here", it breaks Percy's perception of Tyson, and brings Percy to even just a bit, to actually question if Luke is the bad guy.
Percy constantly says how he'll follow Annabeth not only by his own words but also from his actions, as the famous scene of "don't touch her" states that very obviously. She's one of his main motivations, and without her, what would make Percy different from Luke? Just power level?
Percy is seen hiding his wounds from Sally, as he's afraid to put her in his problems, Percy is scared that she'll get hurt or worse. Percy sees that the world Luke wants to recreate won't have Sally on it. So Percy will fight to not let that happen(What a theatrical way of mother and son relationship).
Tyson monstrosity
On the books it's constantly brought to our attention how Tyson is a "monster", a cyclops, his relationship with Percy is not just brotherhood but also overcoming stigmas, as Percy subconsciously still sees Tyson as a monster, which makes Tyson an even deeper character, not just "dumb big guy".
When Luke states that monsters and demigods live peacefully together on Princess Andromeda and how Tyson was getting along quite well, Percy breaks, his stigmas with Tyson crumble(a bit fast for my taste...) as now Percy actually sees how Tyson is just like him, not some unfortunate cyclops who were born from his dad.
I saw a lot of people speak about the stigmas being broken when Tyson is claimed, but I digress, as my own perception is that Percy only protected Tyson because of the promise he made to Sally, not yet for brotherhood.
And that's my thoughts for the time, very excited for the last episode of the season, I'm kinda a Luke apologist, but we'll see what's upon us. Thanks for reading, xoxo byeeeee
One that doesn't make sense to me, is that if the gods in the PJO universe cease to exist just because they're forgot, means that any god with the powers of memories can literally destroy any god.
So meaning that if there was a worldwide amnesia to forget the gods exist, the whole pantheon of gods would just disappear.
Which brings to a very interesting thing, Mnemosyne, the goddess of memory in Greek mythology is never mentioned, because(my own theories and opinions) Rick Riordan can't handle his own plot holes and just goes with what the community creates.
Like the thing that gods doesn't have DNA which is something that I could go in very deep, but I'm lazy, or how demigods of same divine ascendency can't have relationships because it's "weird".

Kronos was desperate that his initial plan had failed. He had contacts, but he was surrounded now. The gods were now aware of his plans and would be preparing, if not already prepared, to counterattack him.
Luke was walking aimlessly. Kronos had been too quiet in his mind—no punishment, nightmare, or even his plans, just silence, torturous silence. Luke felt he had failed; perhaps his punishment was this: to be discarded, thrown away. He had no answers, not even in his prayers, only silence. Luke felt that now everything would fall apart. But a voice—a calm, patient, soothing, and inviting voice—spoke to him:
"Hello, Luke. Are you quite lost?" The voice wasn't like Kronos's, which echoed in his mind. It seemed to be beside Luke, like a friend he never had. "Do you desire help?" Even though Luke didn't know where this voice came from, his instincts would tell him no, but something drew him toward it.
Luke didn't know how to respond. Out of habit from conversing with Kronos, he tried to open his mouth to say something, but nothing came out. Before he could even understand what was happening, his body felt the worst sensation Luke had ever experienced.
His skin felt like it was peeling off his body, the blood in his ears seemed to want to flee his veins, oxygen pressed against his body, the lights became blurred streaks. Then, suddenly, it all stopped, and Luke found himself in a garden. A small coffee table sat atop a stone platform with two chairs of black metal, so beautiful they were like works of art.
A stone path led to the platform where the table stood. Luke looked at his surroundings and had nowhere to run—only multitudes of black roses covering valleys upon valleys stretching as far as his vision could reach the horizon. Luke took a deep breath and followed the path. There, perhaps, he would find who was contacting him.
As he walked, he felt as if he were being constantly watched, even though he was alone. It was disturbing, but he continued. The roses seemed to twist over the stones behind him as if closing his way back, a small warning that there was no turning back.
Luke approached the table. His fingers touched it, studying it with a gentle touch. It seemed centuries old but was so well preserved, with no sign of rust or even deterioration—just an obscure and classic beauty.
Luke looked at the chair, pulled it out, and sat down. He thought this might be some hallucination, but everything felt so real. He waited. Nothing happened. He thought about getting up, but then the roses around him began to writhe and invade the platform toward the chair opposite him. They climbed the chair like ferns and began climbing over themselves. Shadows marched toward that amalgam of black roses and fixed themselves to them in a macabre dance.
Luke placed his sword at the ready in case something happened. But from the flowers emerged a boy, appearing to be the same age as Luke: square glasses, yellow eyes, warm white skin, dark blond hair parted in the middle, stylish clothes—something that seemed like a stereotype of what a nerd would wear.
Then he finally addressed Luke:
"Finally, I could meet you." The boy gave a small smile and placed his hands on the table, showing he was unarmed. "My name is Albin, pleasure to meet you."
"Luke,Luke Castellan," Luke replied in a cold tone. He still suspected the boy sitting opposite him.
"Good name. But anyway, as you know, I contacted you for a reason." Albin moved his fingers over the table, and two teacups appeared. Luke couldn't help but notice how the tips of Albin's fingers were as black as the table. "I noticed how you and Kronos, your patron, radiated a certain desperation."
"We are not desperate,"Luke replied quickly. He couldn't let Kronos be insulted like that; he was sure Kronos had a plan in motion after what happened with Percy.
"It doesn't seem that way,"Albin said while sipping his tea. "He's become laconic lately. No punishment, nightmares, or even his grand speeches, right?" Albin tilted his head in curiosity, but he was being rhetorical with Luke.
"You had hopes that Percy's fate would be different, but being the good pawn that he is, he succeeded." Albin spoke each word like precise arrows to Luke's chest; he knew too much. "Now your initial idea has failed, and there's no Plan B. How predictable, wouldn't you say?"
"I wouldn't say that.Kronos is always progressing with his plans, I'm sure of it," Luke clenched his fingers into fists. He needed to show confidence in Kronos, but was Kronos really planning something? Not even Luke seemed to know. "Percy was just an unforeseen event. We remain committed to our rebellion!"
"'We remain,'you say as if Kronos were part of you, something plural of yourself." Albin gave a small laugh. "It intrigues me, but well, I'll be quick." Albin took his last sip of tea and placed the cup back on its saucer.

So, I was rereading the main Percy Jackson series books and an idea came to me: what if Athena's children, instead of being gifted in intelligence, they had a hyperfocus on something?
It's like Annabeth having a hyperfocus on architecture while the others could have hyperfocus on other things, like war, mathematics, languages, or even mythology.
It's very monotonous for Athena's children to be "super intelligent and that's it"; it would add more depth and personality.
Imagine a conversation on a normal day.
And that's my thoughts, feel free to add what you think too, I'm rereading more of the series and having more ideas, I'm currently thinking of Poseidon kids one, but I'm just putting some sense to it. Thanks for reading, xoxo.
