âSargent: Drawing of Nicola DâInvernoâ
In this poem I notice a lot of body positivity no matter what that body looks like. This poem refrains from sexualizing the body, but shows how these bodies are sexualized and shamed. When we think for nude painting we see a lot of cis-gender people rather than all bodies. So I think the painting or drawing of a person who is outside of the binary is revolutionary and it is extremely important for these bodies to be recognized and seen as beautiful. This poem also shows that when bodies like this are shown or drawn it is often seen as pornographic and dirty instead of pure and beautiful. It shows that these bodies are seen as more than just bodies, they hold a deeper meaning. It also shows that all bodies should be shown and celebrated, and I think this poem is a fantastic representation of this.
