“You are amazing. So beautiful. Smart. God!” John slams his clenched fist on the counter.

“Thank you. But you know this will never work. And that you are not actually in love with me like that. You are of things changing between the three of us. I promise you they won’t.”

“That’s bullshit. Things have already changed. And once you start popping kids that’ll be fucking nail in the coffin.”

“No, John. Please.” Molly stops unsure what else to day. 

“Please, what?” John snarls.

“Please don’t make this weird.”

“Is it weird because you know I am right? And we should be together?” At that something snaps, Molly walks up and slaps John across the face.

“You are an ass. I know you are used to getting whatever you want but I can reassure you, John; this will always be something you are denied. And to save your life I will not say anything about this to Rick. Now get out of my house.”

“He doesn’t deserve you.”

“We have a little boy that needs a home. We think you two would be perfect for him.”

“Yes.” Her husband says without consoling her first.

“Does he have a name?”

“Yes, he’s three weeks old and they are calling him Richard or Ricky, but you can cha…” 

“Look Molly you are an amazing mother and you are listening and respectng Fi’s needs.”

“I know, still doesn’t make it any easier. And…”

“Out with it Mol.”

“Like I failed her. I know you said I am an amazing mom, but it’s hard to believe. It feels as if I’m cursed sometimes and everyone I care about ends up leaving.”

“I will be honest with you, okay?”

“Okay.”

“That is fucking ridiculous! You are not cursed. Fi, just needs a change of scenery and to stay still for awhile.”

“I could pause touring…”

“No! Stop making excuses and reasons to back out. It’s done. Fi will be safe here.”

“I never doubted that Melinda.”

“And very loved.”

“I know. I know.”

“Good. I understand this has to be difficult, but I really do believe this will be best for both of you.”

“I am just gonna miss her so much.”

“I would be concerned if you didn’t, Molly.”
