Tobyâs Table is now 100% funded on Kickstarter.
We did it! And there are still 24 days to preorder the cookbook!
20+ black and white illustrated recipes in perfect bound glory - unless we meet our first stretch goal!
Stretch Goal 1
If the project goes from $600 funded to $1000 funded, I can afford to upgrade the printing. Toby's Table will become a handy spiral bound volume with coated pages that hold up to the kitchen. I'll also create a color cover for the book.

Only 48 hours left to back the second Valor Anthology, a all-age, LGBTQA+ friendly, book of collected comic and prose fairy tale-themed stories that pay homage to the strength, resourcefulness, and cunning of female heroines in fairy tales. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1987386669/valor-anthology-volume-2
Only 24 hours now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously so excited about this. I think I spent half my childhood with a âmaster wandâ for the first part of the Spiral I made up ... Meeperia. (20 wands, good times, watched WAAAAY too much Mario?)
Backed it half for me and also half for my daughter to enjoy once sheâs here (and able to read comics).Â
Wow! Thanks everyone for the first day project support for Tobyâs Table!

Now on Kickstarter! Toby's Table is part comic and part cookbook. It collects over 20 of my grandma's recipes in a book illustrated by me.

Chien-Shiung Wu is an example of one of many rogue scientist stories where science meets activism. What story will you tell with your comic submission to the Rogue Science Anthology?
Does anyone know more about the lawsuit around the bankruptcy of 1933 that was spoken of at the end of the Womenâs March program? I want to learn more but I canât seem to Google right.
This is very important. Â

Own one of 100 vibrant and shimmering space scenes painted with ink and mica. Inspired by the ethereal beauty of our universe.
I'm still working on nebulas and spacey art to relax and get back in the art making groove. Share or back my Kickstarter - I already have more paintings than I know what to do with (seriously) and they will need good homes.

Do you like space? Would you like to hang a spacey image handpainted by an artist on your wall? Â Then back 100 of Billions! You wonât be sorry.
PS Spiral readers, this is my warmup. Â The comic will be back when my creative muscles are ready.

A single word is not enough to capture certain feelings. Sensus Obscura aims to define some of these in more than ten unique comics.
Last minute backers are warming my heart!
Who is Square City? - Square City Comics is a Washington, DC based collective of artists, writers, and comic-book creators!
What is Sensus Obscura? - Itâs our latest comic-book anthology, which is currently being crowdfunded on Kickstarter, and which aims to express feelings that words just canât fully encapsulate.
But, wait who are the contributors? - Who indeed? Letâs get to know one of them better -Â Kristy Cunningham! @enterthespiral
What do you do? Iâm an artist and writer for the comics I create
Tell us about your piece in the anthology. My piece in the anthology is âQuerenciaâ. It honors the memory of my Gram and her influence on my life and many others in our family. My Gram always brought us all together around the table. Babies were placed on it to kick and play, we hid under it, we shared our troubles, we shared our joys. It represents the amazing legacy of love and safety she gave our family.
Whatâs your favorite part of making comics? I enjoy putting together visual and verbal pieces to tell a story. Iâve tried my hand at fiction writing and used to draw all the time. Combining the two to tell stories is incredible. That space where Iâm writing, thumbnailing, and sketching out how it will go is a great space for me. I use a lot of sketchbook pages and post it notes with this.
Was anything about this project challenging for you? I originally started âQuerenciaâ as a gift to my Gram. I wanted to surprise her because she always championed my comic work, especially âInfinite Spiralâ. Unfortunately, shortly after conceiving the comic idea, she lost her decade and a half long battle with COPD. The piece has become a memorial for her and a gift to our entire family.
Whoâs your favorite creator? I really enjoy the work of Hayao Miyazaki - from the style to the storytelling, I really feel swept up in the journeys he has created. I love the way he embeds culture and timeless messages deep within his work. Beyond that there is a sense of absolute wonder at the universe that I admire.
Whatâs your favorite tool of the trade? Iâm a big fan of a good mechanical pencil on paper, truth be told. A lot of Infinite Spiral is done digitally, but thereâs nothing quite like pencil on paper. Iâm also a big fan of technical pens, like Microns, which youâll see in use for âQuerencia.â
What brought you to SCC? Iâd recently moved to the DC area after finishing graduate school at Michigan State. While getting my degree I took a class on comics and was hooked. I started Infinite Spiral, but was feeling alone. I found SCC on Meetup and the rest is history
Whatâs one tip you would give to 15 year old you in regards to making comics? Donât hate on your own art so much it makes you quit. When I was 15 the internet was young. There were only so many artists I could compare myself too, but I would still do it. I felt like my art wouldnât go anywhere. In fact, in my 20s there were years where I just stopped drawing. Donât make that mistake! Stop for a moment, take a deep breath, and remember you are 15. Most artists you see have been at it years longer. Then stop for a moment, take a deep breath, and realize you just realized something isnât right with your art. It means you are ready to get better. The only way to do that? Observe the world, ask for feedback and draw!
Where can readers find more of your work? You can find more of my work linked from my portfolio site:http://novemberkris.webflow.io/ or you can reading my ongoing fantasy epic, Infinite Spiral by going to: http://www.enterthespiral.com/
