We're working on our Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and brainstorming traction channels this week. We already have our initial inputs in our Business Model Canvass (BMC) Model, so we just need to go over them again and revise them. Fortunately, our team was chosen as one of the startups to represent USTP in the upcoming National Science and Technology Week Pitching Competition. I'm excited and nervous at the same time, but we'll do our best.

The Midterm Pitch was nerve-wrecking but worth it. We received a lot of feedback from our panel, Sir Dio. We recognize that we still need to identify and validate our customers, particularly in identifying our primary target market. We renamed fish exporters to quality controllers because they were the ones who directly tested and evaluated the quality of the fish. We are currently working on our Business Model Canvass (BMC). The business model canvas is a standardized language for describing, visualizing, evaluating, and changing business models. It describes the logic behind how a company creates, delivers, and captures value. We may see changes to the current BMC as a result of further discussion and hypothesizing. For the next few weeks, we still have a lot to learn. But for the meantime, we are focusing on the prototype. Hopefully, we will be able to complete the prototype by the end of the month.

This week, we learned about Pitching and Fundraising. Engr. Bronson Mabulay introduced the three different ways to sell a team’s idea or solution which are ELEVATOR PITCH (a one minute pitch), SHORT FORM PITCH (a three to ten minutes long pitch), and LONG FORM PITCH (a formal pitch which is 20 minutes long).

Also, we must always remember in designing a presentation:

1. Frame your own story. (Be interesting and message must be understood by audience) 2. You are a storyteller. 3. Apply 10/20/30 Rule slides: 10 or less per slide: no more than 20 words font size: 30

This week, our team's goal was to interview additional potential consumers. We also reduced our scope because we realized that we should focus on electronic applications rather than software because that is what our program requires of us. As a result, we held interviews for our fish freshness meter. During the virtual interviews, we can conclude that our idea has a potential.

This week we learned about value proposition. A value proposition is a promise of value made by a corporation that explains how the benefit of the firm's product or service will be given, experienced, and gained. In summary, a value proposition outlines what makes a company's product or service appealing, why a customer should buy it, and how the value of the product or service differentiates from similar offers. Unfortunately, we are still unable to do so. But, perhaps, we'll be able to move on to this section soon after the data from customer validation is collected.

Despite our busy schedules, we were able to gather and play Spaceteam this week! It was entertaining and engaging! This game instilled in us the value of trust, calmness, and communication. We played the game multiple times because we were always unable to advance to the following level. We got to level 4 as far as we got.

We are now working on user and idea validation for our product. As a result, we formulated survey questions. We're also seeking for people to be interviewed.

This week's speaker talked on how to establish a team. Although we never have the opportunity to choose our teammates, I believe we can still work together. The Hacker, the Hustler, and the Hipster, according to the speaker, are the three H's in a team. Each has a vital function to play. From what I have understood, the hacker is in charge of the technical aspects, such as programming or coding. The Hustler focuses on product promotion. In this case, he or she will need to be an excellent communicator in order to persuade potential clients or investors to back the company's suggested solution. Finally, Hipsters place a greater emphasis on design. They are in charge of making the product more enticing.

Our team has already had its first meeting, but we have yet to choose who in our group is the Hacker, Hustler, or Hipster. But, if I had to rate myself, I'd say I'm more of a Hustler because I've done live selling previously. I'm no longer a novice when it comes to marketing my stuff. Pitching, on the other hand, is something I'm not sure of. I also consider myself a Hipster since I enjoy designing, despite the fact that I am not very good at it.

One thing I really learned from our speakers for this week is how perilous it is to be unfamiliar with entrepreneurship. People you believed you could trust could steal your concept. Just like on the kdrama series startup, Nam Do-san and his friends had so much ideas but they gave so much information to their potential investors despite the fact that they could actually copy their idea. They also stressed the need of having an issue to solve in order to pique the public's interest.

I also get the opportunity to meet with my team. We set up a groupchat so that we could start exchanging our thoughts, but due to our differing schedules, we didn't make much progress. Nick Ugay, Clint Casiño, and Lovely Maureal are my colleagues.
