God I just know y’all are going to whine so much when Eric ans Kyle’s story gets screen time and preemptively I’m just going to say fuck you. A person discovering and exploring their queerness later in life in an incredibly important story to show and so is a person learning to love and trust again after getting groomed and outed as a teen. Besides if you need to relate it to hollanov, Erics struggle with having to retire is good lead up for the struggles that Shane and Ilya are going to face in Unrivaled. Literally the stories of all of the game changer couples are important in their own ways. Hollanov may be the center of the universe but they aren’t the only ones that matter

You know what makes Shane extra brave? Having to drive for 10-15 minutes towards the thing that he’s been avoiding his whole life. Literally every alarm bell in his body was going off, his strategic captain brain running through every possible scenario. All of the years of secrets that he has built himself around are shattering before him, and all he can do is drive his car toward it. He doesn’t want to. Literally no part of him wants to do this. He says it himself, if it hadn’t been for Ilya he would have just lived his life locked in the closet dying a little bit every day, but still in the end even if it’s just for this little bit he drives towards it. Like that’s crazy fucking brave
