I am HIGHLY confused how Murphy's Law work.

Like I totally get the whole "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong" thing. My question is... why does that NOT apply to Sara? She's a Murphy. She's a descendent of the original Murphy. And from what I understand of this show (while still in Season 1) -> If you're a descendant of the Original Murphy you deal with Murphy's Law. I've seen clips of the Christmas Episode where Milo's cousin is like, "No I'm not effected by Murphy's Law." And like... even the extended family deals with it. But why doesn't Sara? Like obviously their mom doesn't because she married into the family. But isn't Sara a descendant? How come she doesn't deal with this? Her date with that guy Neal went fine and then Milo showed up and things got crazy. They went to the dude ranch, she's got nothing crazy happening while Milo, Melissa, and Zach are always in near danger. Elliot the Safety "Czar", he went to school with her. Granted he was two grades older so like he was a senior when she was a sophomore, but you're telling me he wouldn't have had to deal with Murphy's Law as a student too occasionally? I mean, we see how the school is constantly in some type of disarray or nearly destroyed with Milo. That isn't happening at the High School?
