          “ ARE YOU SERIOUS ?? ” there’s a B O R E D sigh passing through his lips and his eyes convey the emotion --- ANNOYANCE. “ it’s AJAR. come on --- give me a riddle that’s actually challenging. ”

         “ ummm ---- NO, i’m actually eleven. ” he doesn’t even bother to hide the fact that he’s ROLLING HIS EYES. canting his head to the side, he PURSES his lips together and quirks an eyebrow in her direction. “ i could tell you what’s wrong with that, but you’ll just get offended and i REALLY don’t want to deal with that right now ---- i’ve got things to do today. ”

         “ MAYBE ----- just maybe, try coming up with better excuses. ” henry’s lips are NOW pulled into a snarky smile, reaching for his glass of chocolate milk off the counter. BEFORE he presses it to his lips, he allows a roll of his eyes and another cheeky reply. “ as a certified genius, i don’t have to put up with this. i could go to HARVARD. right now. ” he motions TOWARDS the door dramatically and the snorts out a laugh, finally taking a drink. once he swallows, he places the cup back onto the counter and raises eyebrows in the direction of his adopted father. “ so, next time insomnia strikes, should i just come bother you ?? ”

                * HENRY PAUSES ; drawing in a deep breath as he considers his next move. exhaling slowly, he shrugged his shoulders casually. “ hypothetically speaking ---- NO, that won’t work. you can’t force it to work, hoping that it’ll work, because it WON’T. you’re just going to break it. ”

           “ you’re REALLY SMART, ” he says, a soft smile pressed against lips before glancing down at the book thrown across their laps. “ i don’t know why you need help with anything. ” it is possible, henry realizes quietly, that perhaps will not only wanted to get caught back on all that he had M I S S E D, but perhaps he also craved company from someone who WASN’T going to pity him. henry, of course, would NEVER pity him ----- henry did not have it in him to poke && prod a boy who went through so much.
