what does love mean to you?
something you need
it goes without saying that we all need love, but maybe that's a realisation you've had to have. and you don't just need it, you want it, don't you? i hope you know that you can allow yourself to believe that. you're allowed to want love, it doesn't make you greedy or needy, and there's nothing you have to do in order to be worthy of anyone's love. you're deserving just by existing as you are, you've existed enough and done enough to be entitled to a life of love. and you'll find it - maybe you already have! - i know you will.
"SWIM BACK." It's the only reaction she'll get that isn't warranted as calm. But it's short-lived when Indigo starts laughing. "I ain't swimmin'." They adjust their long hair and huffs, "this baby'll weigh me down." Indigo is not a swimmer to begin with.
"but you gave me a good idea." And with that they roll right off their seat and looks toward the rows and ROWS of trees.
"maybe we can make a small hut. Something to shield us from the storm. We have everything we need." Shit, this is a bit nostalgic!
Chain was relieved at the reaction. She hadn't truly had any intention of swimming back, either. She meant it when she said she hadn't wanted to get wet. Plus she hadn't swam in years. Did she even still know how? Was it like riding a bike or whatever, the whole never forgetting thing?
"Do we?" There was plenty of wood, and she didn't doubt Indigo's ability to fashion pretty anything out of anything at this point. It was a stroke of luck that she ended up with someone who knew what the hell they were doing. She, too, hauled herself up, all fluid and grace.
"Alright. Tell me what to do, I'll follow your lead." She looked way too determined for whatever this was.
eyebrows raise, green eyes light up, and though his expression doesn't change much, there's a bit more vigor in his sleepless body language. like a cat perking up when its owner popped the tab on a can of tuna.
though he didn't before, he at least has the audacity to swallow the shards of the shell before speaking next.
"food? alright. i'll take it."
there isn't really a please or a thank you, but the offer seems to have put him in a good mood.
"please take me there."
Food motivated, duly noted. She couldn't help but wonder if this was a bad idea -- if maybe feeding this kid would be like feeding a stray, she'd be stuck with him for however long he deemed fit. But she lead him to her camp in silence, anyway.
It wasn't much to look at. She still had the shelter she'd help another companion construct earlier, although she had no idea where they'd gone off to now. There was a little circle of rocks with the charred remains of a fire. In a haphazard little pile atop large palm leaves sat all the forageables she'd managed to scrounge up. She studied the pile for a moment, selecting a fruit she figured was probably ripe? Tossing it in the direction of her stray.
"Here."
"There's fish, too. And some clean water around here, somewhere, I think." It wasn't a surprise that her temporary dwelling was just about as disorganized as her permanent residence. "Help yourself. Just don't eat everything, alright?"
"i'd rather you not make me a profile at all!"
"Why not? Aren't you interested?"

"So is that a yes?"

It took her a moment to realize this woman was talking to her. It was a lot of words all at once but she's pretty sure she caught beauty and sophisticated which was enough to startle her out of words. The alcohol was turning her cheeks pink, she was absolutely not blushing.
"I was." She did help decimate an entire cellar's worth of wine once. What she had in front of her now was nothing compared to that. "I don't know if I'd call it impressive, though..."
"Might as well get something, if you want. It's on me." If Chain noticed the girl looked a tad under drinking age, she didn't really care.

"wait...what does being an invisible werewolf entail? i mean, does it hurt when you have your abilities cut off?" now is a good time to ask how any of her abilities work. back at home he was always shy (a lie, leo was pretty intimidated by her) to even ask chain. since it was just the two of them on the island, just maybe he could get a proper answer.
"i do remember hearing from the other residents here that we can earn our stuff back," he takes out his toy camera from his pocket. "i didn't even get my own camera when i arrived." while yes, he does have his phone...there is just something better about taking photos with an actual camera.
he gives her a nervous smile, "h-hey now, i'm sure the both of us will figure it out in no time!" he hopes.
probably should have done a little bit more research on how to get home, oh well!
"It doesn't hurt." Chain paused, thinking. It would be difficult to explain to someone who didn't already just know. She wasn't always good at explaining the way she felt in general -- not that she ever really bothered trying, but that was beside the point. "It just feels weird. Uncomfortable. Like having a phantom limb." More than anything she supposed it was psychological, her mind knowing it should be able to do something and not being able to understand why it couldn't. She would get over it, given enough time.
She looked down at the toy camera. "Why are you carrying that around?" At least they didn't give her a toy when she showed up. That would have been a little insulting.
Leo's words did have the desired effect on Chain's mood, insomuch that she no longer looked like she was ready to draw blood. She still didn't look exactly cheerful, but when did she?
"You don't even know why we're here, do you?"
"One month already... so much for getting home any time soon."
