i’ve forced myself to watch hour long jubilee videos to understand conservatives better in order to gain a better grasp of their world view and how they got to the point of supporting someone they’re fully convinced has their best interest at heart when it’s clear he couldn’t care about anything other than money and raping children.

i cannot stress enough how it is fully and truly impossible to criticize anything if you haven’t dissected it to its fullest. there’s no way to analyze something with any level of detail or accuracy without consuming that media. and if you really have formed your own opinion based on your moral compass, then reading something you disagree with will only strengthen your argument, not sway your opinion. you cannot live your life only consuming media that fits your own narrative or bias. you must be uncomfortable sometimes in order to challenge yourself and grow as a person.
