The hero of China, welcomed home. Here's my Afro-Chinese version of Mulan!

When looking for the perfect photo set for the @creatingblackcharacters Melanin Beam Challenge, this scene stopped me in my tracks. There's so much love in this moment, and I wanted to capture as much of her father's adoration as I could.

My favorite detail is the waves in her father's hair, where the texture shows from being smoothed and pulled into his bun.

my final submission for the Melanin Beam Challenge! Zuko!!! :^D

I’m super proud of how this turned out and had a really fun time making it! Originally I had planned to do two full drawings, one of him pre-vampirism and one post, but slightly overestimated how much time I had.

Here are a bunch of sketches and studies I did to figure out how I was going to draw his face and hair, as well as a couple sketches of him after he becomes a vampire!

Overall I super happy with how he turned out and I had a fun time doing lots of sketches and studies to get him just right, and I’m definitely going draw him more in the future! Dio is one of my favourite characters in Jojos and I really hope I did him justice with this art!!!

I went with Marceline from Adventure Time, she’s one of my favorites from that series.

If she was 100% human, her skin wouldn’t be purple, but since she’s half demon and a vampire I thought I’d give her a more supernatural look. Her hair was probably the most fun aspect to draw.

One year ago, "Minuscule" started ! What was first a little joke inspired by fanarts and discord discussions became way more than expected ! I was really surprised to see how people loved the concept and embraced this story ! I never thought I would work on it for so long but I did, and it's far from over !
