to remember and to let go.

there are a lot of things i've heard about the star wars fandom (the racism and sexism being the top complaints), but i just want to bitch for a second about my own personal experience—as a woman who watched all of the main movies and 2 of the tv shows for the first time in the last year or so—that i find it impossible to talk to so many of the fans about Any of the media i consumed for the franchise whether i'm speaking negatively or positively or even neutrally. i frequent a gaming group/shop for a star wars card game where everybody there (except for my brother and i) talked big about being huge star wars fans and encouraged me to watch stuff from the franchise. i told them i'd seen andor and loved it and multiple people didn't seem to care about that (or were bordering on neutral), didn't want to talk or engage about the show (plot, characters, writing, etc) at all. i go watch all 9 main movies over the course of a few months and report back to them when each is done, nobody wants to engage in any conversation about them either, no matter if i'm trying to talk about from them. can't even get them to discuss it over text. then i'm met with outright rejection for having watched the acolyte and wanting to discuss that too.
