Venus, Jupiter, and Mercury Pinaleno Mountains, AZ June 2026
I realize it's been a while since I posted, offline life has kept me pretty busy.
I rather liked the way this nightscape turned out. Venus is shining brightly just above the Beehive Star Cluster in the constellation of Cancer. Jupiter shines a bit less brightly in the twilight. Mercury is just visible above the dip of the hills, to the right of the distant tree, in the last rays of the sunset.
The timed picture also captured either a number of satellites or a number of meteors (around the time of the Bootids).
The trees were destroyed in a fire from the 2010s, I believe, but possibly the one in 2023.
