Yes, that sentence is absolutely perfect :) the only other one I can think about for now is Ad astra per aspera, but so many use that as their motto. I’m from a country or rather nation where there was, and still is a plethora of early reformed churches present. Being catholic, Greek catholic (not orthodox!), Calvinist, Lutheran, Unitarian and so on, not only divides and defines ethnically but historically it was also a political statement. It defined fractions nationwide, in cities or even the branches of certain noble families. Even now, after years of communism, when most of the country is not practicing or only the christening/wedding/funeral type, you can feel which if it was predominantly catholic or reformed village or city. It’s also very interesting, how the debate of predestination and free will infiltrated poetry and characterization of certain national heroes, their work or heraldics, as the reformation and counter reformation fell together with a quite turbulent time of our history. for example one of the most current mottos on Lutheran churches is still ‘a mighty fortress is our God’, and their role in translating and using our language not only Latin and German is insanely important for our culture. It’s not as deeply ingrained as in Protestant Nordic or WE countries, but you can feel the difference when travelling the country.
