I headcanon Shadow as gay when I ship him with Sonic. But I also ship Shadow with Amy, and obv he's not gay when he's with Amy. I headcanon Blaze as a lesbian, but only when I ship her with Amy. When I ship her with Sonic she's not. And you might be like, "oh, just say they're bisexual!" but no, they're not bisexual. Sonadow Shadow really is gay. idk how to explain it to you, it's just true.
