“It’s depressing when you think about.” pointed out Hallie with a shrug. “The majority of this holiday is clearly based off of romantic love…And then there’s us single people, and sure I know I’m young and I shouldn’t even be complaining. But, it’s just that constant reminder that makes it depressing you know? Anyways, it shouldn’t matter. I have to keep telling myself I’m an independent woman who needs no man! What’s your take? Why’d you feel the same way?” 

“It’s even gone from being a greeting card holiday designed to sell greeting cards and candy and about the idea of romantic love, and there are some things I have to say about how buying expensive things isn’t a sig of how much someone loves someone else. But still it was a nice holiday to celebrate romance. But now it’s not even that. It’s become so sexually charged. They keep releasing those horrible 50 Shades movies on Valentine’s weekend.”

“That’s the spirit! Have you been having a good night so far?”

“As much as a single person on Valentine’s Day could.”

“Valentine’s Day is only good for two things. Candy and chocolate. Especially when it goes on sale.”

“I do like both those things.”
