I know I'm supposed to write more in here, but I'm really too tired. I don't get how Penny does this. I get up before lunch like always, but then Ivana needs the potty and I have to eat something because I'm starving more than usual and then I know I should go to the store but I'm exhausted again so I go back to sleep but then my insides are kicking me and so I stare at the ceiling and it looks like the white room the aliens had me in.
I don't remember a lot. I know I kept asking about Penny and Woody, but no one knew what I was talking about. Earth government says that undocumented aliens are everywhere. Who knows where these ones came from or what they were doing.
Penny beats herself up too much. She thought that the alien not coming back was her fault, and now she thinks what happened to me was her fault. Its not. I wanted to do this. I don't care if its a different alien. I feel like what's inside me is part her. But in a good way.

Absolutely. I think the only thing he got from Mary were her eyes--which just serves to make him that much more gorgeous, as Mary’s eyes are arguably her best feature. Norm is definitely The Pretty One of the Widespot Four.

Francis gets along really well with the Lands, which was surprising to me, as I imagine them as a bit of culture shock for an only child. Having Beulah as a work friend didn’t hurt matters, either.

Which is why I was tickled by the fact that the memory popped up--actually, I find it very interesting that they apparently didn’t make out during testing. I thought that you had played the hood for a few days before packing it up, and one would think that a makeout would pop up in there somehow.
I guess, to be fair, if I’m going to read into Sandy’s caught cheating memory, I probably should have read into the lack of makeouts between the Lands as well...but for this playthrough, I just kinda shrugged it off.

I’m glad Val finally gets to connect.
Yeah, I couldn’t let him go without at least seeing what would happen if I put them together--but I think Val realizes that it would needlessly complicate things to butt in now, and that he missed his chance. It’s not like Norm had a bad childhood or was starved for attention. He has a great relationship with Hamilton. The person who needed Val was Shallough, and he really stepped up to that. I don’t have pictures, but Val taught Shallough all three of his toddler skills, and I’m pretty sure he taught at least one of L’only’s as well.

Oh, Mary, Mary, Mary...since all criticism is ultimately autobiographical, I should say that I probably over-identify with Mary. At times, I think I project onto her...I was the oldest of five children (who were all homeschooled). Two brothers, two sisters. I did a significant amount of the housework and childcare. My mother stayed at home and my father was working a job that did not pay enough to support us at a middle class level. I got through high school planning all of the babies I was going to have when my prince came along, and spent a year after high school sitting on my ass at home doing nothing. Waiting for this fictional figure to come along and “save me” by giving me my own version of this same life all over again. So I sympathize with Mary. But my man never showed up.
One could argue, of course, that Mary’s never did either (which I would agree with) but no one showed up for me at all. So I didn’t get pregnant. Thank God.
Instead, I eventually realized that I could not go on like this forever, and that my plan for what I wanted to do with my life depended wholly on someone else. So I got off my ass, went to college, rethought everything I had believed as a child that had failed to follow through as an adult, discovered I was bisexual, dated people on the internet, and moved four states away from my family. I did eventually end up marrying a man who has a disturbing resemblance to Junior, but that’s a whole other story.
I wish I could give Mary what I gave to myself. But Mary’s pregnancy precludes so much--if this baby lives and she raises it, she can’t even ever have the experience of living on her own, which I think is crucial for her to evaluate her own priorities. If I play Widespot again, I think I might arrange a strategic miscarriage, just so I can play that out. I would be very curious to know if Mary rolled a want for a baby during testing or not. I’m not sure it’s what she really wants. I’d like to send her to college.
But this Mary had the baby, and for this Mary, her life worked out close enough to the way that she pictured it that she didn’t have to question. So she is the girl she’s always been, seeking her mother’s approval, doing whatever needs to be done.
But don’t worry, I’m still working with her.

They're all happy, though. Norm and Myrtle learned their skills; they're doing well in school. I'm not even worried about both twins at once. I'm an old hand at this now.

It's really embarrassing how little the scientific community knows about the social lives of wild rabbits. I've been watching this colony for two weeks now, and already I have begun to question some of the assumptions that most of my colleagues take for granted. Most scientists will tell you that rabbits are polygamous. Just the other day, a hawk took Millie, and Mumpfred has been keeping to himself, refusing to socialize with any of the others, except the current litter, which he has been staying close to ever since his mate's disappearance. This also goes against other observations that bucks generally do not take care of the young. To be fair, he isn't doing a very good job of it.
That's the reason rabbits have so many kits, anyway. So many of them die.
