Bryce Canyon - Pink and white siltstone and sandstone of the Tertiary (60 - 45 my) Claron Formation. The formation erodes quickly and the rim of the canyon is eroding at between 9 and 48 inches per year.

The Grandview (or Grand View) mine is a closed Cu-U occurrence/mine located near Horseshoe Mesa on the South rim of the Grand Canyon. The mineral deposits at the Grand View Mine were discovered in 1890 with production between 1893 and 1916. The mine was operated by the Canyon Copper Company between 1901 to 1908. It closed in 1907, but it went through a series of owners until William Randolph Hearst acquired it. Hearst sold the property to the US Park Service in 1940. It's now part of the Grand Canyon National Park. The Grandview Mine is now a roost for protected bat species, including Townsend’s Big-eared Bat (Corynorthinus townsendii).
