One thing to note about Dorcas is that she does not take up space. This stems from a daemon's innate sense of self preservation, sticking to corners and shadows where people are more likely to gloss over them in their original states. Shadows make it easier to hide in, to blend into the dark where they cannot be seen. They do not like to command attention to themselves because it is not what familiars are meant to do, even if their bonded individual has an outstanding personality.

In any animal form a daemon takes, they still do not take up space in presence, no matter what animal form they shift to so they may match with their witch. Daemons are familiars, extensions of their witch yes, but they still do not command attention to their presence. This is noted by often being so close to their bonded individual that you cannot distinguish where one ends and another begins, commanding all attention to their witch, instead. It may also take form as distance — sitting in trees, at the ends of beds, across the room.
