Of course she knew and that was one of Missy’s many many
advantages over UNIT and the Doctor. Knowledge, she knew they
would be there, waiting for her and her little army, she knew they
did not stand a chance against her. She knew she could swat
them all like flies and she did - OH, she did. A half smile crept
onto her features, she was enjoying this far too much. The steel
worn by a Lethbridge-Stewart was delightful, but the anger of one
was something more and it made the Eternal want to dig deeper,

It was a lie, she could not care less for being imprisoned, escape
was easy. Her real motive was the Doctor, and how he had wanted
to take Osgood on as another of his stewards. Some would say
jealousy, but really the loss of a companion was always hard
hitting for the Doctor, and one lost before she could ever travel was
just another of Missy’s many ways to bring the Doctor down to his
knees. An even greater loss came later, but opportunity struck and
Missy just couldn’t say no.
“You might think I’m terrible, dear. But really, it’s what I do.
And you - you only care for poor Osgood, don’t you? What
about the two other soldiers I killed? They had lives and
families, people that cared for them. But you didn’t shed a
single tear for them, did you?
NO - they’re just cannon fodder, after all.”
