Imagine MC lays Sylus nonfertile eggs for the first time and she falls in love with the color. A beautiful shade of ruby with a second color mixed in. He tells her that the color is her own and it is a sign of compatibility between two mates.

MC is saddened that they will have to be disposed of but she understands since you can't keep them forever. But sometime later, Sylus surprises her with a ring with a jewel that resembles their egg color. He had used a piece of the shell as the jewel since she loved it so much and he heard it was human custom to present a ring to another mate.
