Today is a pretty peaceful day, Hot Guy thinks, some minor criminals there and there but overall it's a very chill day in the city and it was but nothing he couldn't handle on his own
So now he's just hanging on a building's roof top, resting and keeping his ear out for cub to give him his next move
Cut to ember who had just finished a fight of their own with another "puppet" that appeared but it was something small and quick to manage on her own away from crowds, which was a huge relief
And now she's looking for somewhere to just rest and recharge, when suddenly she spots hot guy sitting on a roof top
Wow he's just in the open...
And an idea popped in her head
...He's just sitting there in the open... perfect for scaring...
She drops down making sure to be as quiet as possible, sneaking closer behind hot guy and getting close to his ear and...
"What are you doing mid guy?" In a mid tone
"AH!" Giving a high pitched scream and jumping before falling on his back by embers heels
He immediately looks up and realizes it was ember who is now snickering at him
He quickly gets up and dust himself before coughing and saying “…I mean ahh..” in a more gravelly voice
Ember laughs louder, while holding her stomach before walking over to sit beside a now pouting hot guy
They sit there in silence, Ember looks at the other buildings casually humming to themselves taking in the view
Hot guy is still pouting muttering under his breath and casually glancing at ember from time to time
There’s a nice silence between them and no one says nothing until ember suddenly speaks up not glancing at hot guy
“What made you want to become a hero in the first place?” That catches hot guy off guard and he turns around quickly to see her with a questioning face
“What’s with the sudden question?” He squints his eyes accusatory
Ember now turns to look at him, smiling “well I’m just wondering since you’re so mid at your job, I just need to know why the career choice” her smile turning into a smug one clearly making fun of hot guy
“Har har, very funny…well if you must know” he turns around crossing his arms and his pout coming back “it’s obviously because of my most amazing and undefeated talent-“
They laugh lightly rolling their eyes “I’m serious though, I’m curious to know why you became a hero”
Hot guy turns around, shocked by the genuine interest that ember is currently showing in him
He looks down, embarrassed and his cheeks looking a little red
“It’s a little childish and embarrassing but…” he starts scratching his neck and blushing
“Yes?” Ember says as she leans a little closer
He sighs and looks up “it was actually because of poultry man” an exited spark in his eyes appears, a smile forming in his face
Embers face turns pale and freezes in her spot
“He was an amazing hero who was silly in his own way while taking his job seriously” he keeps going “and at first I thought his whole thing was kinda dumb but he was so genuine and would help anyone-“
He keeps going, not bothering to check if ember is still listening, he’s listing all the good and amazing things that made poultry man the hero he was
While cut to ember who is now in full shock and has her jaw open
Poultry man?! Seriously?!
For some context about five years ago, Grian used to go by the alias Poultry Man, also a vigilante hero but Grian retired from being a vigilante and removed himself from that space (until now)
So basically hot guy's inspiration for becoming a hero was his old persona
Ember cringes back and her cheeks get red,
"oh...wow...uhh poultry man huh?" They say as she stands up and starts backing away to hide the embarrassment
Hot guy now turns to look at them, disbelief growing on his face
"wait...you don't like him?"
He stands up too, following behind ember who is standing close to the edge where she starts stretching her wings ready to leave
She turns around to see hot guy again
"what! Nooooo...just uh...dumb" and with that she jumps back off the building not waiting for a response
Hot guy gasps in a insulted tone as he rushes to the ledge only to see ember flying away in between buildings, already gone before he could start a rant
"dumb...dumb?!?!" He grabs the ledge
He scoffs backing away and crossing his arms
"Dumb...are you kidding me.." he walks to his bow and arrows with a little bit of anger
He starts walking to the other end of the rooftop, preparing one of his grappling hooks
"she's...the dumb one"
He grapples to another building jumping off leaving for another round of patrol in the city

These are the first concepts of the au, I knew I wanted to create a hero au but I didn't want to just take from the existing ones
So the magical girl grian just clicked better in my brain (and the concept was so fun to explore) especially if I added the hermits and the lifers into the mix :]

- inspired by MLB and Shezow mainly in some mechanics
- Grian used to be popular hero poultry man but retired, and then some years later after his retirement he's gifted a magical bracelet and now he's roped back again
- had to call her Emberheart because I felt that Ariana Griande was too on the nose and a bit obvious
- Her and Hot Guy have a bit of a rivalry, just mainly her bothering/teasing Hot Guy
- Grian works at a design studio with the other hermits
- hot Guy works in the agency, ember does not, neither did poultry man
