No people are just getting into the annoying habit of over analyzing Shakira’s stomach again smh.

People are just being petty tbh. They’re taking it as if adopting another accent means that she’s neglecting her Colombian nationality, which is ridiculous. There are just some accents that are stronger than others, and are easier to pick up. The Spanish accent for example, is very strong, just like the Argentine accent, so it’s only natural for Shakira to pick up the accent after living with Gerard in Spain after so many years. If you listen to her speak during her beginning years she definitely had a recognizable “Costeño” accent, but that accent isn’t as strong or thick as the “paisa” accent. She also moved out of Colombia when she was about 18 years old and lived with an Argentine for about a decade and now has been living with a Catalan for 8 years so its safe to say her accent has been manipulated a bit but that’s really something that happens naturally and nothing to do with her thinking she’s better than her compatriots, which unfortunately, is where this petty nonsense stems from smh.
