My beloved Nonno went to his eternal rest last night, one day after his 93rd birthday.
His easy laughter, quick wit, passionate love of opera, and above all his kindness and generosity of spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a Venetian, an Italian, a free thinker, a feminist, and one of my personal heroes. He lived his life surrounded by friends and family, music, wine, laughter, and the integrity that comes from knowing that these are the things that truly matter in this world.
I am grateful that I was able to spend as much time as I did in his company. I will cherish the many wonderful memories and little inside jokes we shared, always.
Nap on, sweet man. Nap on.
