"Yes, so much for changing. Unless you're fine with wearing dripping shorts for the rest of the day."

"Does this pie taste off to you? Does it need anything?"
"Your pies are always delicious, Remy."
"Is... is something wrong? You seem very, well, agitated."
My friendâs bugging me to go swimming. I donât swim.
No, itâs fine, I donât mind company. Company usually minds me, though.
Have you tried... telling your friend?
Really? Why is that?
"No, no Iâm perfectly fineâŚDo I really look ill to you?"
"If you say so... but you do seem awfully clammy."
"I suppose it's not my business, anyways..."
Whereâd my normal clothes go?
"I suppose you're talking about those shorts bobbing up and down at that far side of the shore," Elsa pointed with a small smile. "Keep track next time?"

I donât know why, honestlyâŚ
What's troubling you?"
I can leave, if you wish...
dance, dance {kyle and elsa}
Kyle snorted at the slip of the tongue. âVery, ermâŚaccurate word choice, Miss Chambers,â he said, a grin on his face. âOh, Jesus,â he muttered as he nearly stepped on her foot again. âWhere was that foot even supposed to go? I donât know. Iâm not used to this. I need a sword in my hands to be able to control my feet.â
"There aren't many dancing opportunities here." Elsa almost slipped, catching the next step just in time. Somewhere out there, she could sense the fates laughing at her. "Though there are plenty of fighting events."
Elsa grinned sheepishly. "Thank... you?" She had spent all her time around the royal court, and constantly watched her words as a result. It was strange to have someone talk so casually.
Jamie was confused. A little bit more than confused. He was normally good at reading people, but Elsa right now was a complete mystery. 'Is she sad? Did I say something? Oh god, what did I do?' She looked like she was blushing, but it was in no way positive. He didn't think. Her glass of tea was empty, and without asking he took the cup and walked behind the counter adding some ice water. He briskly walked back and handed it to her.
"You look flushed." He looked at her slightly startles expression and the he smile he so easily carried went back to his face. "I suppose that's one way to look at life... But have you considered pain is an inevitable part of it? Yes people should never intentionally hurt others, and should definitely play they're fair part in keeping other people, both loved ones and strangers out of harms way. But this can only take someone so far. No one person should have the burden of making another persons life perfect. They'd make themselves mad trying to prevent the inevitable." He picked up the butter knife on the table and casually twirled it with his fingers. "Honestly, I'd be happy if someone was just there when I did get hurt, even if...especially if it was at their hand."
He searched Elsa's eyes, wondering what she was thinking and also hoping he himself wasn't talking too much.
"Thank you." Elsa took the cup gingerly and had a hesitant sip, a feeling of uselessness rising in her. Here he was, handing people drinks without asking and sitting down to talk with the sole purpose of helping. And he was good because he was sincere- something shining in every word he spoke. And that was something Elsa could never be.
She shouldn't be here. She shouldn't be ruining good people like him.
"Sometimes," she started, unsure of where she was going, but knowing what she needed to say. "Sometimes, it's better to... avoid the one who's hurt you... or the one who you hurt." Elsa laughed, a dry, rough utterance that scratched at her throat. "It... saves a lot of trouble.
"But thank you," she said again, unable to bear with the thought of sending him away distraught. "For... conversing with me."
royally-restless:
"Just trying to point out that the dance could be a lot worse."
"Well, yes it could."
"Sorry for questioning."
dance, dance {kyle and elsa}
"So, Iâm sure this is as awkward for you as it is for me. So Iâm just going to do it." Kyle took Elsaâs hand in his, putting his hand on her waist. "Am I doing this right? Are you okay?" he asked as he started to gently lead her. "I really donât want to mess this up. Youâre all right, right?â He accidentally stepped on her foot, and nearly had a heart attack. âJesus, Iâm sorry, that was an accident, Iâve justâŚIâve never really waltzed before.â
"I- no, it's fine," Elsa managed to say, trying not to wince. It wasn't his fault, and she knew that she couldn't be much better. Her hands were clammy and pale, and she was sure that the rest of her was also. "I haven't either. I wouldn't be doing this at all if her Highness hadn't threatened- er, asked."
"No, you're not messing up. It's natural."

"What about it is deceiving? Itâs a beautiful name and you are beautiful enough to match it."
"I consider it a knockoff, actually."
"Though you are very kind... thank you."
Oh, hello!
"As do I." Suddenly she heard the sound of a shrill bell she would recognize coming from the castle. It was probably just background noise to Elsa, but Elena knew she must go. "It was a pleasure talking to you, unfortunately I must excuse myself. I hope to talk to you later!" She yelled over her shoulder as she was easily getting up and walking away.
"Right..." repeated Elsa softly as she watched her run up the trail. "See you later."

"No."
"Nope, unless youâre in the woods or the park or the school, Iâm not really around all that much."
"What brings you out here?"
"Well, I don't really visit any of those places, so that explains."
"I thought I would walk around... Been a while since I did."
"Itâs alright. Iâm just not used to being royalty I guess."
Izzy glanced at Elsa, noticing howâŚ.nervous she looked and tilted her head curiously. Izzy thought back to the conversation. âShe loves you,â Izzy started. âShe didnât speak ill of youâŚ.sheâŚ.actually, she misses you. She doesnât know why you push her away.â Izzy looked at Elsa, wondering what reason she could have to push away her sister. âShe wants to know why you donât let her in.â
"Oh... is it..."Â Elsa knew that it was an elementary question, but she asked it anyway. "Hard?"
"I..." Elsa wasn't sure whether to feel happy or guilty. So Anna didn't hate her. She missed her. But that would just make the goodbyes all the worse. "I'm... relieved to hear that. Though..." She struggled to think of what to say. She couldn't very well spill everything to Drizella, a princess, simply a messenger for something much bigger that Elsa had to face. "That is... complicated..."
