“I’m showing you appreciation now, aren’t I?” He asked with a small and teasing smirk on his lips before nodding his head at her words. “French toast sounds fine to me.”

“Well maybe if I saw your tail, I wouldn’t have to pick you last,” he muttered before instantly blushing at how sexual it managed to sound. “Unless you count the half of a muffin I stuffed in my mouth before Becca took it, then no.”

“Ouch, and here I was thinking we were so close. Nothing, just trying to socialize outside my sister and her friends and Jessie still hasn’t unlocked the door for me so King’s not an option. What about you?”

“But you’ve still never managed to show me your tail, so I’m still skeptical.”

“—–Don’t you like, need to breathe after so long?”

“Yeah. Water would be great, thanks.”

Elliot grabbed a bottle from the fridge and handed it to Kris. “Wild night?”

“Ow.” Kris winced at the pounding in their head. They miserably ran their fingers through their hair. I definitely shouldn’t have drunk so much last night.

“Don’t you look angelic,” Elliot said with a chuckle. She didn’t know much about the young girl but she admired her hard work. It would only be a matter of time before she got promoted. Seeing Kris like this though was a bit concerning. “You want some water?”

“I mean, I notice quick enough that my place doesn’t burn down but yeah, I’ve done it multiple times without thinking of it,” she said with a small chuckle. “I usually don’t think about touching food, though. Unless it’s like noodles of some sort. I’m a horrible cook.”

“I really wish I could laugh about the situation and be on your side, but the amount of times I’ve forgotten to take my damn fork out of the bowl before putting it in the microwave is endless.”
