iris.
“Oh, you so are — you pout your lips and everything,” Iris teased, giggling and pushing her fingers through her hair. She’d never voice it, but she was quite sad about him leaving in a couple of months. Elliot was one of her first real friends, he was certainly the one she trusted most because he never gave her a reason not to, so getting used to being without him around was going to be a bitch, especially since they still weren’t on the terms they previously were on. “Some kids are absolutely ruthless, they wouldn’t bloody care if you started casting curses on them,” Iris joked, shaking her head and sighing softly, “I used to sneak in chocolates, but I hid my tracks well and I’m still in Madame Pince’s good books,” she giggled softly, keeping her arms crossed over her chest. “How have you been, Eli?” the redhead asked, genuinely interested in his well-being (as she always was).
“well perhaps i am a grump,” he muttered, narrowing his eyes together, “but i definitely don’t pout.” his lips were almost pressed into a solemn line, eyebrows knitted together in concentration apart from the rare occasions where the studious look broke into a smile --- most of them happening around iris, probably his closest and only friend which made it understandable. though, more recently he had been tutoring dominique very often and he supposed he could consider her a friend? he did enjoy her company, she was intellectually stimulating as well as eager to learn, which were never bad combinations. though iris was always first in elliot’s heart. the thought of having to leave her soon was upsetting, especially since he didn’t know where he stood since she had kissed him. “apparently so,” he replied with a soft chuckle, “because i definitely wouldn’t put that past pince.” the lengths the woman went to in protection of her books was admirable really, the ravenclaw tutting as iris revealed the truth. his eyebrows raised slightly at the question, “i’ve been good, busy studying and preparing for exams, a little more occupied with head boy duties,” - he never got tired of saying that - “but i’ve managed to keep on top of most things. there’s not been a lot of ‘me’ time, but you know i like to keep busy --- how about you?”
