Ok, so the other day I found a haunting little ditty called Elliott by Cricket Blue, and it has a line that goes "your body as wet as a peach on the tongue", so obviously I couldn't NOT make it about the Magicians, but! I was running into an issue because the rest of lyrics really had nothing to do with queliot at all. Don't worry though guys, I cracked it guys, I know you were concerned but I totally cracked it you guys.

If! You imagine the song being from Brian's perspective about the Monster, with confusing flashes of memory and emotional bleed through from Quentin, it ends up working FABULOUSLY! Very sad! Highly recommend! Try imagining Brian and the Monster doing scary the Monster activities but put a shot of Eliot looking handsome in every time the word Elliott gets sung! As though attributing the violence of the Monster to the beautiful man of Brian's half-remembered dreams! Great stuff!

The incredibly talented @nothingmancy left open ended tags for any who wanted to play and... I wanted to play. So. Here's a lil bit of the second chapter of my "Quentin and Eliot both survive the memory wipe with memories intact and frantically set out to seduce each other" fic (https://archiveofourown.org/works/62691085/chapters/160487995)! Have I been writing this damn chapter for well over a year now? ...Mind your business. Chapter three is finished, ok?! Chapters four and five are pretty much finished too! I HAVE A MEANDERING SPIRIT AND WILL NOT BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE!

We welcome as many or few things as you wish to create, as long as they fit the event guidelines. For instance, Warm Up has a length restriction, but Welcome Home! does not. All our events have themes, but one choice for Welcome Home! allows new additions to existing WIPs that don't fit any other theme.

Amnesty Week takes place on AO3 and Tumblr. We have AO3 subcollections for each challenge, and we'll reblog your work here and gather it in our recap posts for Amnesty Week 2026. We'll also add your work to the recap posts for the original events!

As always, new works and additions to existing WIPs are welcome, as are all types of fanworks. If you wish to submit individual pieces of the same work as separate entries, that's totally valid! They could be for the same theme, or different ones.

Amnesty Week 2026

We open for entries on Tumblr and AO3 at 12:01 AM Eastern on August 10, 2026, and close at 11:59 PM Eastern on August 16, 2026. Within a week or so, we'll post recaps. These will highlight everything created for Amnesty Week 2026, as well as join the works to the original event posts.

Please post your works to Tumblr and/or AO3 following the specific guidelines below. If you make something on another platform (such as a vid on YouTube, a pinboard on Pinterest, art or cosplay on Instagram, music on Bandcamp), please share a link to that content with a post on Tumblr and/or AO3. If you need help with this, please contact the mod team. We have an email address listed on our AO3 subcollections; you can also DM us or use the Ask feature here on Tumblr, or join the Discord and use the ask-a-mod channel.

To make sure we have the best chance of seeing and reblogging your work, and to help out your hardworking mods, please submit this form to let us know you made something. This is different from the submission forms used for the original events. Please use this instead.

Our team of mods will be looking out for your entries. We do sleep occasionally. But if a day goes by and your post hasn't been reblogged, we may not have seen it. Make sure you fill out this form before getting in touch.

Before you post: Take a look at your mention for us. Is it a live link? Can you click @magiciansfanworksextravaganza and get to our page? If not, try editing your post. If it's an AO3 share, position your cursor at the very end of the post, hit enter to start a new line, and start typing @magiciansfanworksextravaganza. While you are typing, a box with our icon should pop up. Click on that suggestion to link to our page. If you don't see the box, it won't link. Make sure you're typing in Rich Text rather than HTML unless you know the code to mention someone.

Magicians Fanworks Extravaganza Discord Server

We're holding an eight-week event this fall to celebrate the Quest for the Seven Keys in The Magicians (Lev Grossman, SyFy) from August 31-October 25, 2026, Eastern time. Please join us!

For this event, anything Keys Quest is welcome! We'll have one week per key, and one catch-up/overall quest week. Also, with relaxed posting, anything related to the Quest for the Seven Keys will be welcome anytime, just in case you're not retrieving your keys in the same order as the show or the same way as the books, or want to collect several at the same time! We know collecting keys is hard; we're flexible! If you would like to focus on specific keys during their highlight weeks, here's the weekly breakdown. You may use Week 8 as a catch-up/hold-all/general keys quest week.

However, if you'd like to use relaxed posting and add your key in a different week, or post about several keys at once, or the quest as a whole, feel free to do that anytime.

Either way, we simply request that you identify your keys at the start of the work (more than one key is fine) and/or let us know that the entry is for "Anything Keys Quest." (As with multiple keys, you may feel your work is both "general keys quest" and featuring one or more keys; that's fine, too!)

It can be a new work or a continuation of an existing WIP. There are no limits or requirements for amount or size, etc.

As usual for our events, new additions to existing WIPs are welcome. Likewise, entries can be the start of a new WIP. As many or as few pieces as you wish to enter are fine. If you're making multiple chapters or pieces for the same work, feel free to submit them as separate entries!

From Aug. 31-Oct. 25, 2026, Eastern time, please post your works to Tumblr and/or AO3 (this challenge takes place on both) following the guidelines we'll share before the event. Quentin Coldwater is trying to figure out what he wants from life. Everyone around him seems to be stepping off into adulthood with career success and personal accomplishments; his childhood best friend is even getting married. And then there’s the Eliot of it all— Eliot Waugh, Quentin’s friend, confidant, found family member… who he’s been sleeping with for the better part of a year. Eliot’s the only person in Quentin’s life not trying to push him in one direction or the other, but it may turn out that Eliot’s the person he wants to build his future around after all.

Quentin Coldwater is dead. And then, all of a sudden… he isn’t? Chronicling the months before and after Q reappears out of the blue. Because if something magical seems too good to be true, Eliot Waugh has learned that it definitely is.

The night the Physical Kids’ Cottage burns down, Quentin is alone in his room, sulking. He could have been at the party downstairs. He’d been invited to the party downstairs. But ever since the… incident with Eliot, things have been weird between them. Quentin hadn’t wanted to mope around the edges of the room and pine for simpler days. And so he’s alone, forced to escape through his bedroom window, as the magical flames tear the Cottage down to the studs.

In the aftermath, Quentin, Eliot and the other Physical Kids are left to pick up the pieces, both literally and metaphorically, of what happened that night. And in Quentin’s case, of what happened months earlier, when he’d humiliated himself and lost the closeness of the most important friendship of his adult life.

Luckily, even if things can never go back to the way they were, that doesn’t mean they can’t be fixed. And in the meantime, there’s a shortage of bedrooms on campus in the absence of the Cottage…

What happens in Vegas does NOT stay in Vegas. When Margo and Quentin head on a spontaneous trip to Las Vegas without Eliot, they have a little too much fun and things get out of hand. Yeah, they sort of got married, but it’s nothing a quick annulment can’t fix. Eliot doesn’t care at all, obviously. Why would it bother him?

Just wanted to take a quick moment to remind everyone out there who is working on any sort of a WIP in The Magicians fandom: we've got you covered in Amnesty Week 2026, if you want to join us! The event you'd list as your participating event and theme is Welcome Home!, the Week 6-7 prompt, "Welcome back to WIPs." This means you can add your latest chapter or newest piece of art or ongoing project to our Amnesty Week event--no other theme needed! It just needs to be something about The Magicians (Lev Grossman, SyFy).
