Hello, any poor souls who stumbled upon this blog. This is the author, Eli, and I'm still a high school student trying to find fun amidst the stress of the Taiwanese education system.
Anyway, some notes before you read the thing.
About the Author: Eli, any pronouns, English is not my first language (but I prefer it online).
I'm a personality typology fan and may rant about the characters' typing and stuff.
The author is an INTJ [Classic Jung: ET(N), so I'm ENTJ as far as the theory's ok] 5w6 so/sp LII if anyone even cares. It's a bit relevant.
My fandoms are wild and messy. And I love researching on languages, too. So there's going to be many awkward non-English phrases in the works... Sorry in advance.
I'm not writing romance. I can't. This aroace has no idea how to write romance and the furthest they got was writing QPRs or very vague relationships.

Leon: Not NiTi. They're TiNi, because I misinterpreted Ni as Ti. Yes Ti is more odd than you'd think. Leon is messed up inside, but they have their logic, which comes from subjective impressions. I tried talking to my IT(N) friend and she can't describe what her logical process is. That's totally normal for Ti doms.
Reeve: To be honest they're very normal. Good job ENTP who's an EN(T). Your only weird typing is LIE, which is fair because at least Socionics describes the "information elements" in different ways.
Charles: Why are they an INTP?? They should be an ENTP. I wrote them too much like an ENTP (Ne-Ti). They are already ILE (for their Ne obsession) and EN(T) (they are definitely extroverted, but not Te dom), they have the ENTP-likelihood down. Then why INTP?
The author: Because we can't have two ENTPs and because I was dumb
Because they are meant to be a reminder that even experts like our Dr. Patrick Jones make the mistake of labeling a person as introverted because they don't like socializing.
Skylar: Aand our ES(T) ENTJ. I wrote them too Se-dom. They reek of Se. Yes, I put a lot of their TeNi (Socionics) in there, but I do think Socionics Te is a manifestation of Te+Se. As for the Ni, let's ignore it because Socionics literally made it related to "how well can you plan a timetable". So the ENTJ part, we can make it so our beloved and very dead Dr. Patrick Jones mistook Socionics terms for MBTI terms.

Screaming again that Socionics, MBTI and Classic Jung aren't interchangeable because they're fundamentally different systems that have wildly different explanations of the same letters/their arrangement orders.
Stop mixing Extroversion (info from outside) with Extroversion (I like parties) I beg u.
I vibe too hard with Extroverted Thinking that I realized I am probably ET(N). Which should make me an ENTJ.
I fell out of love with MBTI at the worst moment WHEN BSGD AIN'T FINISHED YET. Yeah I have no idea how to write the four anymore. Maybe I'll make it an irony who knows.
Ongoing crisis over me being enneagram so5 or sp3. Always seem to me that so5 is closely related to LIIs and sp3 to ET(N)s.

I believe the Ti in Socionics and the Te in Jungian are the same thing. Te in Socionics is more of a manifestation than pure extroverted thinking. I think.

my favorite thing about this post is that a handful of people have gone "oh wait! this is tangible proof that i don't need to be embarrassed about leaving a lot of comments!! i'll stop being so ashamed!" YES!! ao3 authors basically universally will die for people who comment spam. we love to see it and we do not find you weird or annoying At All.
think about it this way: we ourselves are weird enough to have spent several hours, days, or Months writing down this story. we are weird enough about the content to do that! why on Earth would we be mean and judgmental toward people who care enough to get excited about reading it?? we shared it Specifically For You To Get Excited About!
To be very honest, I'm not the best guy to go to if you want to study MBTI. I am doubting the system currently, because I can't get that clear of an "image" when I read into the function stacks, unlike when I read Socionics.
I guess it's the contradictory information running around. If you've seen me write (like INTJ/ENTJ/ENTP/INTP), I tend to focus on their dominant and auxiliary functions instead of the entire stack. It's pretty awful for me to do so (since the function stack theory is more nuanced than that, with the loops and grips) , but I should say it's because the stack theory wasn't really... relatable? It does not fit in what I've observed. So I avoid touching those subjects.
It doesn't mean it is wrong, really, it's just a theory after all, everyone can have their own perspective on them.
Another thing, about Socionics. I find their system easier to use and it's more easily applicable based on my observations irl. However, I disregard the notion of intertype relations, a major part of the socionics theory.
I do not like the community (on reddit, for example) insisting the intertype relationships are carved in stone and believing in it in an almost cultish manner. But that's just an excuse. The true reason?
Because I'm LII, and my best friend since childhood is my Conflictor, an SEE (I typed her myself, and I'm pretty sure of it). (...and the first person I've ever hated is an SEI, my Activator)
Yeah, it's a shitty excuse. But hey, the point is intertype relations is not something to be treated as words of God. I personally do not relate, so I avoid using it to structure my story.
About the difference between the Myers-Briggs INTJ and the socionics LII (INTj):
Here we can see the INTJ emphasizing their use of Ni-Te, the reason & facts.
INTJ here is trying to understand the reason based on the facts given. If this were ENTJ (Te-Ni), they would focus on investigating their team's disappearance first. And if this were INTP they'd be less grounded.
As for LII, they're focused on their Ego block (Ti, Ne).
But since they (I'm talking about Reagan Robe here, not the type) are autistic, their information elements are likely amplified: Ti, an element for coherence/analysis became an intense focus on "making things make sense", and Ne (opportunities/potential) became fuel for overanalysis.
tl;dr: INTJ is secretly enjoying LII's input while LII rambles.
How does a combination of the Myers-Briggs INTJ and socionics LII work then?
Me, I'm an INTJ, and an LII (using Model A).
My INTJ Ni-Te is pretty obvious. I research, and I go deep into the underlying reasons and find meaning.
Ni in "cognitive functions" means meaning and symbolism, but Ni in information elements (socionics term) means time and consequences.
My Ni as an LII is placed in the Id Block, the Block for "strong, vital, unconscious functions". I process through the consequences unconsciously, which meant I can't really explain how my brain makes decisions sometimes.
That "sometimes" is literally when I am not processing through my Ti-Ne, which I like to call my "interior system". Most of the system is structured by using existing components (social values, laws, ideologies) stitched together to form my own.
(I do not understand why people think Ti users will accept existing modules as they are and rigidly keep to it. Rather than that, I believe Ti users internalize the modules and find a way to adopt it so that it makes the most sense.)
tl;dr: The J/P switch in MBTI->Socionics is not reliable since the elements can't be directly "translated".
