“There’s blood.”

She can’t help but to slowly look down at her leg in horror, mouth caught in a frozen scream that made no noise. There, her flesh has been torn open, staining her loose jeans red. "I- I- I--"

He measures her with steely blue eyes, unsure whether or not he should believe her sincerity. He too could feel the shift in the air. The rising heat on his own skin. “You and I are more alike than I would like to admit,” he says now, careful in the way anger was sticking to his skin. “But I’m not sure how to believe anything that falls out of your mouth.”

   “ Ｔｏｕｃｈ ｍｅ, ａｎｄ ｌｏｓｅ ｙｏｕｒ ｆｉｎｇｅｒｓ．” The demon growled lowly, clutching the gaping wound in his vessel’s abdomen. He was grumpy, and for good reason. He’d been attacked; something he was unused to. Usually, it was him doing the attacking, not the other way around.    Overpowered by a religious group, he’d been trapped, and then attacked with chants and spells. Not just exorcisms either– words that would kill him. He managed to escape in the nick of time, though now– he was extremely weak; on the verge of collapse.    After a moment of silence, he growled deeply – demonically, hoping to scare her off or something. Always stubborn, of course.       “Leave me be.  I don’t need  some   bitch’s   h e l p .”

He doesn’t believe her for a second. He wants to, sure. But why should he? No amount of forgiveness could possibly lesson the blow. “You know what I think? I think you like making excuses for yourself.”

“I’m not, I’m not, I’m not-- L e v i ,” she pleads, brows furrowing in devastated anguish. Heels of palms press into either side of her temple, fingers lacing through her light locks. “I would have told you sooner, I swear, but I was afraid that you find me dangerous, unapproachable.”
