Just A Dragon Hoarding Slugcats

Every June is the month of Pride, where the queer community celebrates the progress we have made towards broad acceptance of all sexualities and genders.

But if you haven't sheltered yourself from US culture drama, you may have heard something like this:

"Why do the Gays™ get a whole month, but our veterans only get one day?"

Some even suggesting "taking back" June and make it veterans month or something.

If you didn't know, the US observes Military Appreciation Month every May. Not that these morons care. You don't have to bother telling them that. They most likely forget about it by next year.

But I had an idea. What if we "give" June to them? Instead of resisting and reminding them of the facts, let's get really fucking condescending on their asses.

Every time someone brings up Pride Month and pulls the veteran's day card, remain calm, put on your best service worker smile, and follow these simple steps:

-Agree with them -Suggest the name "Military Appreciation Month" -Look the name up on google to see if it's taken. Pretend you don't already know -Note that it already exists and suggest moving it to June -THEN suggest that if the military doesn't need May anymore, we can just take it for Pride Month

At that point, their toddler brain should hopefully become really possessive like when a parent is trying to put a toy away they haven't played with for a while.

And if they do take the deal, we get an extra day of Pride. Win-win.

Don't know why I phrased it like a step by step guide. I don't know what I am doing.

Anyway, just try to pull a switcheroo if they want June to be about the military, so they feel like they have to give up an old toy to get the new one.
